We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer with a specialization in hardware and embedded systems testing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in writing test cases, creating test scripts for automation, and executing comprehensive test plans. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our hardware products through rigorous testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test cases and test scripts for automation, focusing on both functional and non-functional testing aspects such as power, performance, and stress testing.
- Utilize bug-tracking tools like JIRA to report defects effectively, track their resolution progress, and ensure clear communication across teams.
- Operate a variety of test equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and ESPEC Chambers to validate hardware performance and functionality.
- Implement and run automated tests, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform initial debugging of test and test environment-related issues.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, contributing as a strong individual contributor while also supporting team goals and projects.
- Execute test plans, identify and resolve setup issues, and ensure all test activities align with project timelines and quality standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using JTAG debuggers and possess a working knowledge of Unix systems, leveraging these skills for efficient debugging and testing operations.
- Provide expertise in debugging electronic hardware systems, writing detailed board-level rework instructions, and guiding technicians in implementing and verifying rework solutions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (6-10 years) in QA Engineering roles focused on hardware and embedded systems testing.
- Strong proficiency in writing test cases, test automation, and executing test scripts.
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as JIRA and familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of functional and non-functional testing methodologies, including power, performance, and stress testing.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot various test equipment and tools essential for hardware validation.
- Hands-on experience in automated testing frameworks and first-level debug skills in test environment setups.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Preferred experience with JTAG debuggers, Unix systems, and familiarity with hardware debugging techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail.
