Job Description
As a Senior Quality Engineer at Orbitworks, you will lead the development and execution of quality systems and assurance processes for spacecraft throughout their lifecycle, from component procurement to launch readiness. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with a strong path toward senior management. Your responsibilities will include supporting the implementation and sustainment of an AS9100-based quality management system, leading root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions, conducting supplier audits, participating in engineering design reviews, establishing and monitoring quality KPIs, and mentoring junior engineers. Orbitworks aims to be the first commercial firm in the United Arab Emirates to mass-manufacture satellites.
Must have:
- 7+ years in quality engineering (aerospace/high-reliability hardware)
- Deep understanding of AS9100 or ISO9001 QMS
- Experience with root cause tools (5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Familiarity with flight hardware qualification/readiness
- Proficiency in Jira, PLM, ERP, MES systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T
Good to have:
- Exposure to IPC or NASA workmanship standards
- Experience with customer/agency quality audits
- Leadership experience or mentoring background

About this Role:
- Support implementation and sustain a quality management system (AS9100-based QMS)
- Lead root cause investigations (RCS) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Conduct supplier audits, define qualification criteria
- Participate in engineering design reviews (Control Plans, PFMEA, etc.)
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs across operations
- Mentor junior engineers/inspectors and contribute to team scaling
Must Haves:
- 7+ years in quality engineering (aerospace or high-reliability hardware)
- Deep understanding of AS9100 or ISO9001 QMS
- Experience with root cause tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Familiarity with flight hardware qualification and readiness processes
- Proficiency in Jira, PLM (Arena, DURO), ERP (NetSuite), MES (ION) systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T
