Job Description

Analyze large data sets and condense complex information into concise, relevant, and easy to communicate results. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of statistical software applications and research databases. Generate original investment research to improve client outcomes and support portfolio construction solutions. Represent quantitative research to stakeholders and clients. Act as a subject matter expert in investment topics, proprietary methodology, and data points. Remote work requests will be considered consistent with the company's remote work policy.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field with 3 years of experience
  • Master's degree in Finance or related field with 1 year of experience
  • Experience with Python and SQL
  • Experience with numerical optimization techniques
  • Experience with financial databases
  • Experience with statistical methods in finance
  • Experience with Agile software engineering
Good to have:
  • Experience with mutual fund, fixed income, and equity databases
  • Experience with Morningstar, FactSet, Barra, Bloomberg, Aladdin, or Axioma
  • Experience with classic econometric methods

Job Details

Job Title: Senior Quant Analyst (multiple positions)

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Duties:

Analyze large data sets and condense complex information into concise, relevant, and easy to communicate results (10%). Assist in the implementation and maintenance of statistical software applications, research databases, and other data products (10%). Generate original investment research with the goal of improving outcomes for our clients (20%). Responsible for research supporting the company’s portfolio construction solutions including optimizers (30%). Represent the work of the quantitative research team to internal stakeholders and external clients (20%). Act as a subject matter expert in multiple investment topics such as equities, fixed income, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, etc., as well as company’s proprietary methodology and data points (10%). * Remote work requests will be considered consistent with company's remote work policy

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science or other related quantitative or financial discipline, or foreign equivalent and 3 years of relevant experience as Quantitative Analyst or a related position involving software engineering, computer engineering, or finance. In alternative, we will accept a Master’s degree in Finance, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science or other related quantitative or financial discipline, or foreign equivalent and 1 year of relevant experience as Quantitative Analyst or a related position involving software engineering, computer engineering, or finance. This position also requires: experience with Python and SQL within both software development and analytics environment; experience with numerical optimization techniques and Python libraries including CVXPY; experience with mutual fund, fixed income, and equity databases, including Morningstar, FactSet, Barra, Bloomberg, Aladdin, or Axioma; experience with statistical methods and classic econometric methods used in finance literature; experience with Agile software engineering practices; experience in conducting high quality research on the financial markets; experience with monitoring the latest developments in the literature, particularly among equity and multi-asset portfolio solutions including strategic and tactical asset allocation, and model portfolios. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
