We are currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Services Engineer to join our Services Team in Italy. In this position, you will act as primary technical contact to designated customers for Service related activities. The Senior Services Engineer will provide expertise knowledge on Adtran equipment, DWDM, Network Manager firstly; Access Ethernet Synchro secondly. Key responsibilities include product introduction, integration, training, and network lifecycle support.
Must have:
  • Act as primary or secondary engineer for product homologations, Proof of Concept, advanced demonstrations and trials.
  • Perform commissioning including equipment configuration, DCN establishment, and full functional testing.
  • Supervise or work with Adtran Service Partners as required.
  • Provide onsite or remote technical support, working independently or under product experts.
  • Create detailed documentation and acceptance packages for project completion.
  • Deliver customer and partner trainings based on product documentation.
  • Perform network upgrades and network audits.
  • Ensure quality correction.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Services Engineer to join our Services Team in Italy. In this position, you will act as primary technical contact to designated customers for Service related activities.

The Senior Services Engineer will provide expertise knowledge on Adtran equipment, DWDM, Network Manager firstly; Access Ethernet Synchro secondly.

Key Responsibilities:

Product introduction to customers:

  • Technical interface as primary or secondary engineer for product homologations, Proof of Concept, advanced demonstrations and trials

Product integration in customer’ networks :

  • Commissioning to include configuration of equipment, establishing DCN for network management and full functional testing.
  • Supervise or work with Adtran Service Partners when required.
  • Provide onsite or remote technical support when required, working solely or under direction of Product experts.
  • Create detailed documentation and acceptance package for the projects completion.

Product trainings

  • Deliver customers trainings to customers or partners based on the product documentation provided.

Network lifecycle support

  • Perform network upgrade and network audit
  • Quality correction

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Extensive experience in telecommunications transmission technologies with an operator or vendor
  • A good understanding of Optical transmission, DWDM systems including ROADM and Optical amplifiers and the relevant supervision tools
  • Optical path testing, loss and dispersion measurement
  • Transmission testing
  • Able to generate and interpret OSA, OTDR, BER test results.
  • Dealing with customers, able to work with some technical or business pressure
  • Good communications skills, written and spoken
  • Fluent in both oral and written Italian and English

Education / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor / Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Full driving license

Scope of employment:

  • Fulltime / Permanent
  • Office based (Rome), hybrid working or remote working
  • Role requires territory mobility and will require some weekend, out of hours work with occasional overnight stays
