Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join an agile engineering team at Flexera, responsible for designing, developing, and operating scalable cloud-based microservices. This role involves working across the full software lifecycle, from API design and business logic implementation to deploying services in Kubernetes and ensuring high availability. You will contribute to a cutting-edge SaaS platform, making a significant impact on a globally used product.

Must Have

• 5+ years of experience developing scalable web or SaaS applications.
• Strong hands-on experience in a functional or object-oriented language (Go, Java, C#, or similar).
• Solid understanding of software architecture, algorithms, and performance optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform for cloud-native deployment.
• Strong background in database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL, such as MongoDB).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.

Good to Have

• Experience with Goa, JavaScript, and AWS cloud services.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a dynamic, empowered engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and operating a suite of scalable cloud-based microservices. You’ll work across the full software lifecycle — from designing APIs and implementing business logic to deploying services in Kubernetes clusters and ensuring high availability and performance in production. This role offers an opportunity to make a real impact on a cutting-edge SaaS platform used globally.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate in an agile environment to design, build, and maintain distributed microservices.
• Break down requirements, create detailed design documentation, estimate timelines, and implement solutions.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot multi-layered, service-oriented cloud applications using Go.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of APIs, deployment pipelines, and observability tools.
• Develop rapid prototypes and engage in pair programming or design reviews to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Optimize product quality, performance, and security.
• Leverage and learn modern cloud and DevOps tooling, including Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Sumologic, and AWS (various Amazon Web Services).
• Contribute to shared documentation and internal knowledge bases to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand use cases, gather feedback, and translate requirements into practical engineering solutions.
