Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at GoDaddy, you will be a crucial part of the Site Engineering team, focusing on building the next-generation platform and working with critical infrastructure, specifically driving the data platform. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining secure, highly available, fault-tolerant, and globally performant microservices-based platforms on AWS cloud. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in the entire software development lifecycle, write efficient code, ensure code quality, investigate production issues, contribute to technical documentation, and mentor other engineers. This role requires ensuring DevOps on-call responsibilities. This position is remote.
Good To Have:
  • Comfortable working with, designing, and developing APIs and web services.
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code and hands-on usage with AWS CDK.
Must Have:
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience in distributed applications.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, software designs and microservices.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience with AWS technologies and cloud services.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies using GitHub workflows.

Location Details: 

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.​

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Site Engineering team. You will play a crucial role in building our next-generation platform and work with critical pieces of infrastructure, driving data platform. You will be responsible for developing portions of our customer-facing platform and ensuring its functionality.

What you'll get to do...

  • Design, develop, and maintain secure, highly available, fault-tolerant, and globally performant microservices-based platforms deployed on AWS cloud.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build shared experiences and flows.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and architecting to implementing, testing, and maintaining client and server-side platforms.
  • Write efficient, maintainable code following best practices, and ensure code quality through extensive unit and integration testing.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, ensuring your team's DevOps on-call responsibilities.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and mentoring fellow engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end technologies, browser nuances, and provide guidance to other developers.

Your experience should include...

  • 3+ years of experience in a software engineering role, building large-scale distributed applications or solutions.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React is a huge plus.
  • A solid foundation in data structures, software designs, microservices, and containers.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS technologies and cloud computing services.
  • Experience with data modeling (NoSQL databases and/or Data pipelines a plus).
  • Proficiency in AI tools is a huge plus.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks like Cypress.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies using GitHub workflows and version control, Katana, Docker, and other DevOps tools.
  • Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools like ElasticAPM.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and experience working on agile teams.

You might also have...

  • Comfortable working with, designing, and developing APIs and web services.
