Job Description

SailPoint is seeking a Senior Staff Performance Engineer to build and deliver reliable, scalable, observable microservices for enterprise-grade, multi-tenant SaaS products. This role involves understanding SailPoint ISC design, setting up performance lab data, developing load test scripts, and analyzing performance bottlenecks. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of backend services (Java, Go, or Python) and cloud-native technologies (AWS or GCP), contributing to the company's mission in identity security.
Must have:
  • Understand SailPoint ISC design and deployment architecture.
  • Design and setup data in the Performance lab.
  • Deep understanding of profiling and software monitoring tools.
  • Develop load test scripts and create tools for performance testing.
  • Write performance test plans, analyze, conduct tests, identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Provide tuning and performance improvement recommendations.
  • Publish and communicate performance test results and recommendations.
  • Promote and educate other engineers about performance best practices.
  • Mentor other team members in the performance group.
  • US Citizenship is required for this role.
  • 10+ years of professional performance testing and profiling experience.
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language and techniques.
  • Experience with monitoring and tracing SaaS tooling.
  • Understanding and experience with cloud-native technologies.
  • Understanding of Java Frameworks.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture and messaging infrastructure (Kafka and Redis).
  • Experience with Performance testing concepts and tools like Grafana K6, Prometheus, and Apache JMeter.
  • Familiarity with Linux OS.
  • Great communication, problem solving and analytic skills.

SailPoint is seeking Senior Staff Performance Engineer with solid understanding of backend service (Major Langs: Java & Go or Python) and a desire to learn about cloud-native technologies (AWS or GCP), and who are passionate about building and delivering reliable, scalable, observable microservices for enterprise-grade, multi-tenant SaaS products.

Due to FedRAMP requirements, US Citizenship is required to be considered for this role

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and learn SailPoint ISC design and deployment architecture.
  • Design and Setup data in the Performance lab to emulate SailPoint customers data volume and shape.
  • Deep understanding of profiling and software monitoring tools.
  • Develop load test scripts and create tools necessary for performance testing software and infrastructure.
  • Write performance test plans, analyze, conduct test, identify performance bottlenecks, and extract best practices from lessons learned.
  • Provide tuning and performance improvement recommendations for tested software and infrastructure.
  • Publish and communicate the results of performance tests, scalability assessments, and recommendations.
  • Promote and educate other engineers about performance best practices.
  • Mentoring other team members in the performance group.

In the first 30 days you will:

By 2 months you should:

  • Understand team goals and OKR’s for the quarter and beyond
  • Understand key dependencies, meet key stakeholders
  • Be comfortable with tools, systems and processes used on a day-to-day basis
  • Have executed test work, both supervised and unsupervised.

By 6 months, you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of the product and architecture
  • Exercise independence and autonomy in managing their roles and responsibilities
  • Accomplish projects on your own with limited guidance

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):

$151,100 - $215,800 - $280,500

Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
