Guerrilla Games, most recently known for Horizon Forbidden West, is a dynamic and innovative leader in the gaming industry dedicated to creating immersive and engaging experiences for players worldwide. We’re currently looking for a Senior Visual Effects Artist to join our team.
What you will do
- Become part of the visual effects team and be responsible for creating, visualizing and implementing particle and shader effects.
- Act as a champion for artistic vision and quality standards while mentoring and helping guide others, fostering growth and development while maintaining high standards of creativity and excellence.
- Work on a wide range of stylized character and weapon effects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including art, design, and engineering to integrate visual effects seamlessly into gameplay mechanics and narrative elements.
- Ensuring that your work runs within performance requirements.
- Setting up logic that drives your effects, using our visual scripting language (similar to Unreal Blueprint).
Who you are
- You have proven experience as a VFX Artist in the gaming industry with first-hand knowledge working on more stylized FX.
- Great communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and provide constructive feedback.
- Strong technical and artistic skillset, good understanding of animation principles and a passion for building expressive stylized effects shaders.
- Experience with Maya or similar 3D packages and node-based shader building tools (Unreal Material editor, Unity Shadergraph, etc.)
- Understanding of particle systems (Niagara, VFX Graph, Houdini, etc.)
- Experience with visual scripting languages
- Happy to learn and explore new software
- Pro-active in solving issues that might arise during production.
Plusses
- Experience with other engines and toolsets such as Unreal, Unity, etc.;
- You have shipped at least one title. (Bonus for Live Service)
- Experience in drawing effect textures and 2D flipbook animations
