Job Description

As a Senior Technical Animator at Flying Wild Hog, you'll be responsible for rigging and skinning character and creature models, developing animation tools using Python, collaborating with modelers and animators, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring technical correctness of character assets. You will work closely with the Character and Animation teams, Production, and the Engine team to create and improve animation systems and engine tools. The role demands proficiency in rigging, skinning, 3D packages (Maya, MotionBuilder preferred), and a strong understanding of human anatomy. Experience with Unreal Engine, MetaHuman pipelines, and facial rigging is a plus.
Must have:
  • 4+ years experience in game industry

  • Houdini familiarity
  • C++, HLSL coding

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a passionate person who will become a new Technical Animator in our team. If you are an experienced rigger who is looking for an opportunity or you have a wild passion and want to start a great adventure in the gaming industry then send us your CV and portfolio!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rigging and Skinning models of characters and creatures
  • Developing and improving tools for the animation team by using python language
  • Daily working with modelers and animators to create high-quality assets
  • Collaborating with Character and Animation teams to maintain high-quality standards and visual consistency of the game vision
  • Maintaining characters file naming structure and ensuring characters are technically correct
  • Collaborating with production to ensure high-quality projects and meet deadlines
  • Working with Engine team to develop animation systems, create and improve engine tools

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 years of experience in a similar position in the video games industry
  • Good knowledge in rigging and skinning
  • Ability to create tools and scripts for the animation department
  • Knowledge about modular scripting rigging
  • Very good knowledge of any 3D package (Maya, MotionBuilder preferably)
  • Good understanding of human anatomy
  • Very good communication skills, openness to giving and receiving feedback
  • Keeping up to date with current technology trends
  • Unreal Engine knowledge
  • Metahuman pipelines knowledge
  • Facial rigging experience is a plus
  • The physics simulation experience is a plus
  • Good English skills
