Job Description

The Senior Test Manager will lead testing of products within the Industrial and Enterprise Mobile Connectivity area. They will work to ensure seamless experience for customers and drive innovation for mobility enterprise products. Responsibilities include identifying requirements, leading testing of network technologies, enhancing CI/CD capabilities, and contributing to continuous improvement. The role requires collaborating with product owners and managers, providing project updates, and contributing to technology investment. The candidate will also provide guidance and feedback to junior team members.

What You’ll Do

Global Networks & Technology - Commercial Engineering designs and delivers Telstra's commercial solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of its customers and partners.

You will work collaboratively to ensure the connection between platforms, applications, services and products provides a seamless experience that drives Telstra’s competitive advantage.

The role entails leading testing of products under the Industrial and Enterprise Mobile Connectivity area within the NAE portfolio. The mission is to drive innovation and excellence for Mobility Enterprise Products utilising the 5G wireless networks delivering exceptional customer experience for Enterprise customers. 

Understanding customer usecases, you will be working as part of highly skilled team to delivery new features and enhancements of the product.  You will contribute to improving delivery time from conception to delivery through development and use of automation,  and achieve Telstra's Autonomous Network (TAN) goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will contribute to the success of the Telstra Dedicated Networks by identifying requirements and delivering network technology projects that enhance customer experience and leverage emerging technologies such as 5G SA.

  • Leading the testing of multiple complex network technologies, platforms, applications, services, products and/or systems

  • E2E service life cycle management automation, including design, ordering, orchestration and assurance of network services

  • Actively engaging in enhancing and improved CI/CD capabilities (testing, automation) to reduce cycle time whilst retaining quality.

  • Using your strong inter-personal skills to contribute to a shared team purpose/vision and clear goals that enable your team to deliver agreed project outcomes that build a great customer experience.

  • Work closely with the Mission Technical Product Owner (TPO) and Product Managers to identify and prioritize requirements for quarterly Operational Key Results (OKRs).

  • Provide regular project updates, to the TPO, and verbally to the Scrum Master, as well as monthly governance reports outlining key achievements, risks, issues, and blockers.

  • Working with Northbound IT Systems and Southbound Network Systems Application teams on key requirements and implement key features such as error handling requirements and to steam line and test the customer journey use cases flows

  • Continuously developing your knowledge in current and emerging network technologies, platforms, and/or systems so you can contribute to continuous capability and practice improvement initiatives within your domain

  • Providing input and support in collaborative problem solving, particularly issues requiring a holistic view of multiple inter-connected components, systems and/or platforms to overcome new and complex process or technology constraints

  • Contributing to technology investment and recommendations.

  • Delivering outcomes to a high standard by actively participating in small, collaborative DevOps virtual teams to provide engineering design, change implementation and support of platform, applications, services and product issues.

  • Documenting your work to ensure that business continuity, security and operational activity can seamlessly be supported and maintained by others.

  • Applying product Engineering and security best practices across proposed solutions.

  • Actively modelling Telstra and industry best practice standards in your work.

  • Providing guidance, coaching and feedback to less experienced team members

About You

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in Test Case Management

  •  Experience with Node Red, Gitlab

  • API knowledge

  • Flexible, Team Player

  • Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

  • Previous experience and solid understanding of agile and scrum methodologies, practices and toolsets.

  • Capability to independently resolve complex technical issues and effectively troubleshoot intricate problems.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry, especially familiarity with Telstra Mobile Core network protocols, 5G protocols such as Service Based Interface, and their integration with the overall network and 4G/5G Radio Access Networks.

  • Experience with E2E Test Automation

  • Experience with TMF-based APIs

  • Expertise with Network Orchestration ( including Camunda workflow)

  • Experience with Ansible and, Kubernetes

  • CICD (continuous integration, delivery, and deployment), Event driven architecture
