Senior UI Developer

Frontier is seeking a Senior UI Developer for its Elite team to create compelling and responsive user interfaces across multiple platforms. The role involves taking ownership of specific game areas, including planning and task estimation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing UI components, screens, and problem-solving to deliver high-quality game experiences. This position requires close collaboration with designers and artists, contributing to codebase development, and mentoring junior team members.

Must Have

• Develop quality UI code across various projects and platforms
• Review existing and new code additions to the game
• Contribute to the development of our codebase and tools
• Work closely with Designers and Artists, seeking feedback and iterating on UI screens
• Collaboratively develop smart solutions with the team
• Establish strong relationship with gameplay and UI design team for seamless integration
• Provide UI expertise to help, mentor and coach junior team members
• Manage and communicate risks throughout the development process
• Familiarity with at least one high-level language (C#, LUA, JS, Haxe, AS3, Java)
• Experience with or knowledge of languages' debugging tools
• Awareness of performance constraints in real-time applications
• Experience profiling and optimizing code
• Comfortable weaving assets into new or existing UIs

• Knowledge of motion design

WHAT'S THE ROLE?

We are looking for a Senior UI Developer to join our Elite team, who will be responsible for creating compelling and responsive user interfaces across multiple platforms. Their passion for developing UI components, screens and problem solving is pivotal to deliver the quality that the team strives for, in all our games.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Develop quality UI code across various projects and platforms.
• Review existing and new code additions to the game.
• Contribute to the development of our codebase and tools.
• Work closely with the Designers and Artists, seeking feedback and iterating on UI screens.
• Works closely with their team to understand problems and collaboratively develop smart solutions.
• Establish a strong relationship with the gameplay and UI design team to ensure seamless and effective integration of UI into the project.
• Provide UI expertise to help, mentor and coach more junior members of the team.
• Manage and communicate risks throughout the development process.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Familiarity with at least one high-level language, E.g. C#, LUA, JS, Haxe, AS3 or Java.
• Experience with or knowledge of languages' debugging tools and knowing how to use them to diagnose bugs.
• Resilient under pressure with the ability to remain calm and make important decisions.
• Awareness of the performance constraints real-time applications have and has some experience profiling and optimizing their code.
• Comfortable weaving assets provided by Designers and Artists into new or existing UI's.
• A quick learner who is willing to adapt to new tools and frameworks.
• Multiple shipped game titles or experience on a long running games franchise.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE

• Knowledge of motion design.
• Familiarity with TypeScript.
