The High-Speed Interfaces Silicon Validation team is looking for an individual to join our team to contribute to the silicon lab validation activities for our ultra-high-speed (100Gbps+) network communication devices.  Be part of a fast moving, enthusiastic, and dynamic team made up of validation, application, system, and mixed signal design engineers.  You will have the opportunity to work in the lab to further grow your hardware and software skills, work with the industry’s latest lab equipment and software tools, in addition to working on bleeding edge semiconductor technology.

What We Offer

In this role you will be working in a team environment validating and characterizing ultra-high-speed interfaces, referred to Serial - De-serializer (SerDes) transceivers in System-on-Chip (SOC) designs for electrical and optical applications.

  • Bleeding Edge Technology: You will be involved with the electrical and/or optical characterization activities of next generation products targeted for AI and data center applications
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with analog/digital/system engineering teams to gain knowledge of the design and develop skills and intuition to root cause silicon problems
  • State-of-the-Art Lab: Work with the latest instrumentation and equipment available in the industry to build complex test fixtures in a modern lab space
  • Automation: Develop scripts containing device configuration, test routines, instrumentation control, and data collection logic within a validation software ecosystem
  • Innovative Environment: Leverage analytical and creative thinking to develop robust tests solutions to meet evolving industry standards such as IEEE 802.3, OIF, and applicable MSAs
  • End-to-End Ownership: Drive project success through test methodology ideation, execution, data analysis, and presentation of critical feedback to stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering,  Engineering Science,  Computer Engineering or related fields
  • Knowledge of electrical and/or optical test methodologies
  • Experience using equipment to test SerDes devices such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, signal analyzers, VNAs, AWG, VOA, OSA, and power meters
  • Experience with Python and GIT for the purpose of IC testing, automation, and software version control

It Would Be Amazing If You Had

  • Experience with statistical data analysis and tools used in the semiconductor industry
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity concepts is an asset
  • Understanding of SerDes architecture and theory of operation such as PLL, CDR, CTLE, ADC, FFE, DFE, TX (DAC) drivers, NRZ/PAM4 modulation, and FEC encoding
  • Experience in design of HW fixtures for test setups with consideration for signal and power integrity
