Site Reliability Engineer

We’re seeking an Engineer with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) skills to join our Application Management team. This role blends technology and collaboration to support ISS-Stoxx operations. You’ll work across development and business teams to provide high-level technical support, analysis, and solutions for production systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with Security teams to tune and maintain security best practices (SecOps).
• Identify opportunities to optimize performance and enhance security/efficiency; provide recommendations to Development teams.
• Advance infrastructure-as-code practices by increasing automation and improving IaC processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to design service architecture, documentation, playbooks, policies, and operational procedures.
• Assist in identifying root causes of production issues efficiently.
• Support and execute Disaster Recovery testing exercises.
• Respond to time-critical escalations to meet company goals and service expectations.
• Monitor and manage alerts/events using relevant monitoring and ticketing tools.
• Manage production hardware and software resources, coordinating maintenance and outages with globally distributed teams.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience in Application Support, System Administration, SRE, DevOps, or a similar technical field.
• Experience administering production Linux environments.
• Strong team player with effective collaboration skills.
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; fast learner.
• Understanding of how SRE and DevOps principles enhance reliability and business outcomes.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, AWX).
• Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, and firewalls.
• Experience working with distributed teams across time zones.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong desire for continuous learning and growth.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong Python or Linux scripting.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or other APM tools.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, Argo CD, Vault, and other DevOps tools.
