Job Description

Character.AI seeks a Social Media Manager to lead their social media strategy across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms. Responsibilities include defining and executing a growth strategy, increasing brand awareness and follower count, developing and implementing analytics systems, producing compelling video content, collaborating with creators, monitoring trends, managing the editorial calendar, and partnering with internal teams. The role requires 3-5 years of experience in B2C social media marketing, a strong portfolio of video content, and a deep understanding of social media trends and storytelling. The position is remote with regular (paid) travel to the SF HQ.

About the role

Character.AI seeks a trailblazing social media manager to spearhead and own our entire social media strategy across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and other key platforms.

Your mission? ignite awareness, drive growth, and foster engagement for Character.AI.

You'll wield your creative genius to craft compelling content, curate editorial calendars, and launch groundbreaking campaigns that transcend our core audience. Additionally, you'll collaborate with a curated roster of creators to produce top-tier content that showcases Character.AI's unique features and advantages.

  • This role is remote with regular travel to our HQ in SF (Travel Week is 100% Paid and you'll get a chance to connect with the entire Character Team while we hyper iterate and experiment in our SF, CA Office)

What You Will Do

  • Define and execute a bold, innovative strategy, establishing a commanding presence on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other key platforms.

  • Drive a 10% increase in brand awareness, achieve a 50% growth in follower count, and elevate engagement and sentiment across all platforms within 6 months.

  • Develop and implement a robust system for analyzing and measuring the impact of social media efforts.

  • Produce compelling video content that educates consumers about the versatility of Character.AI and its distinctive features.

  • Collaborate with external agencies, vendors, and creators to produce dynamic and innovative social media content.

  • Proactively identify influential creators and assist them in generating high-quality content that showcases their use of Character.AI.

  • Monitor trends on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms, continually testing, learning, and optimizing strategies to seamlessly integrate Character.AI into relevant, on-brand trends.

  • Take ownership of the social media editorial calendar, overseeing copy, content, design, and performance metrics to drive our marketing and communications goals.

  • Partner closely with Community and Product teams to ensure effective amplification of key product launches and features across social media channels.

Job Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of digital marketing and social media experience for B2C

  • Proven track record of successfully growing and engaging audiences on various social media platforms.

  • A strong reel or portfolio of video-first content and campaigns you’ve led or created.

  • Demonstrated expertise in creating captivating social media content and managing editorial calendars with diverse content categories aligned with different value propositions.

  • Deep passion for pop culture and a knack for identifying trends that resonate with Gen Z and Millennial audiences.

  • Strong storytelling prowess to effectively communicate and connect with target audiences, with a keen understanding of brand storytelling and design principles.

  • Prior experience thriving in a startup or similarly dynamic environment.

  • Flexible, resourceful, and adept at working independently while maintaining open lines of communication.

  • Hands-on mentality with the ability to achieve significant results even with limited resources.

Compensation Range: $150K - $250K
