Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a Team Manager with experience in agile software development practices to participate in and manage a cross-functional scrum team focused on extending and enhancing software such as Autodesk Revit as well as in cloud services.  The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the agile “servant-leader” role and will be able to balance acting as the manager with encouraging the team towards a culture of self-organization and ownership of the work and processes.

With the time that is not spent on direct management responsibilities, you should be able to help the teams deliver working software in other ways, e.g. by contributing to the agile processes or by testing, designing or developing software depending on your skillset.

If you are flexible, courageous, collaborative, and a great decision maker, we would love to hear from you!

(The position is based in Bucharest - Hybrid)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a diverse engineering team across multiple projects and initiatives.

  • Recruit and hire new team members as necessary

  • Identify opportunities for individuals to grow within their role, including opportunities for training, challenging assignments, and new collaboration

  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture that values continuous improvement and iteration

  • Define and manage objectives, providing clear direction and support to team members to achieve desired outcomes

  • Work with the product owner to help the teams deliver working software every sprint and release valuable and useful capabilities incrementally

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working on software development teams

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams

  • Ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic, fluid environment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • BS, MS or PhD – Engineering or Computer Science is a typical qualification, but we’d be open to folks who took other paths to the world of software engineering
