Software Engineer 2

Kavaliro is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to support an existing team working on the development and sustainment of a Kubernetes environment hosting ANSWERLAKE services across multiple network platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Java microservices, container orchestration, and infrastructure automation, along with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to system compliance and sustainment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java and the Spring framework
• Support and enhance Kubernetes environments using Rancher and Helm
• Utilize Linux CLI for system operations and debugging
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Collaborate via Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
• Assist with deployment across HCI and AWS platforms
• Participate in system patching, sustainment, and compliance activities
• Support security documentation and SSP updates as needed

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Java and microservices architecture
• Experience with Spring framework (e.g., Spring Boot)
• Strong command line experience with Linux
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Rancher, and Helm
• Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure (HCI/AWS)
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with Elasticsearch or Opensearch
• Experience building dashboards in Grafana
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Salt, or Ansible
• Knowledge of system security compliance, patching, and SSPs
• Understanding of corporate security tools like STE/STN
• Security+ certification (CWIP) is a plus
