Electronic Arts is seeking a Software Engineer for a 12-month contract. This role involves developing cutting-edge technology, tools, and frameworks to advance the gaming experience, specifically for EA SPORTS FC. The position requires participation in the design and development of core systems, cross-functional team collaboration for seamless integration, and driving technical innovation by optimizing code for performance and scalability. You'll work with designers and producers to translate creative concepts into reliable software solutions, contributing to code reviews and overall codebase quality. Sharing progress with technical leadership and production, and actively participating in team culture are also key responsibilities.

Good To Have:

Game development experience
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Lua, C#)

Must Have:

3+ years experience in software engineering
Professional experience in C++ development
Experience debugging complex bugs
Knowledge of object-oriented programming
Ability to understand and modify unfamiliar code
Experience collaborating with multiple disciplines
Experience working on PC and/or PlayStation and XBOX

This role is Hybrid based at our Southam office and is a 12 month temporary contract. We are unable to provide immigration or relocation support.

Responsibilities:

You will participate with design and development of core systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to ensure seamless integration and delivery of a feature
Help us increase technical innovation and excellence, optimising code for performance, scalability, and maintainability
Work with designers and producers to translate creative concepts into reliable software solutions
Be responsible for your own work, collaborating in code reviews and contributing to the quality of the codebase
Share progress with your team, reporting to technical leadership and production, collaborating with the wider team and being an active participant in team culture
