Job Description

Electronic Arts is looking for a Senior Systems Designer to join the Ripple Effect studio in Vancouver, Canada, to work on the Battlefield franchise. This role involves designing and guiding the implementation of front-end systems, collaborating with other disciplines, and refining player experiences based on feedback and telemetry. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of system design experience, a shipped multiplayer title, and proficiency in game editors and scripting.
Must Have:
  • Create designs for select front-end systems and guide implementation through live service.
  • Agree on priorities with leads and teammates for your work.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to implement work for the best player experience.
  • Use feedback and telemetry to improve designs and refine player experience.
  • Support teammates through knowledge-sharing and documentation.
  • Participate constructively and respectfully in critique.
  • 5+ years of experience in a system design role.
  • At least one shipped multiplayer title as a designer.
  • Experience creating front-end systems related to progression and customization features.
  • Experience tuning and balancing complex systems in a live service environment.
  • Comfortable and proficient in technical implementation; use game editors, scripting languages, and engines like Frostbite or Unreal.

The Senior System Designer will report to the Design Line Director. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options within the US or Canada to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Create designs for select front-end systems on a large project and guide them through implementation and live service.
  • Agree on priorities with your lead and teammates for your work
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to implement your work, ensuring it makes for the best possible player experience
  • Use feedback and telemetry to improve your designs and refine the player experience
  • Support your teammates through knowledge-sharing and documentation
  • Participate constructively and respectfully in the critique of your work and the work of others
  • Look for opportunities to learn new skills to benefit your growth, your team, and the studio

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a system design role
  • At least one shipped multiplayer title as a designer
  • Creation of front-end systems related to progression and customization features
  • Experience tuning and balancing complex systems in a live service environment
  • Comfortable and proficient in technical implementation; use game editors, scripting languages, and engines like Frostbite or Unreal.
