Job Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a Software Engineer to innovate content creation and gameplay using AI. This role involves partnering with game teams to design scalable, cloud-agnostic AI production pipelines and implement Machine Learning solutions optimized for game development. The engineer will rapidly prototype, iterate, and stay updated with advancements in Deep Learning, LLMs, and Diffusion models, augmenting workflows for live and in-production games.
Good To Have:
  • Graduate degree computer science, or related a field
  • Experience working in highly collaborative environments with multidisciplinary roles beyond engineering like design, audio, art and product management
Must Have:
  • Work in partnership with game teams to design shared services
  • Design, develop and implement scalable, repeatable, cloud agnostic and secure AI production pipelines
  • Design and implement Machine Learning solutions considering game development requirements
  • Learn by failing fast & failing often, developing solutions through rapid prototyping and iteration
  • Review and keep up to date with the field of Machine Learning (Deep Learning, LLMs, Diffusion models, etc.)
  • Work with game teams that are both live and or in production to augment their workflows or experiment to discover new player features
  • 4+ year experience in a hands-on development role in games or a related field
  • Hands on experience with Machine Learning
  • Conceptual understanding of Deep Learning, LLMs, Diffusion models
  • Experience with devops tools and principles (Git, Perforce, CI/CD, Docker)
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

As a Software Engineer in the AI space you will

  • Work in partnership with game teams to design shared services
  • Design, develop and implement AI production pipelines that are scalable, repeatable, cloud agnostic and secure
  • Design and implement Machine Learning solutions that consider game development requirements: (e.g. low impact runtime complexity & operating cost)
  • Learn by failing fast & failing often. Develop solutions by collecting academic and industry knowledge, rapid prototyping and iterating.
  • Review and keep up to date with the field of Machine Learning (Deep Learning, LLMs, Diffusion models, etc).
  • Work with game teams that are both live and or in production to augment their workflows or experiment to discover new player features.

Qualifications and experience (not all need to be met)

  • 4+ year experience in a hands-on development role in games or a related field.
  • Graduate degree computer science, or related a field
  • Hands on experience with Machine Learning
  • Conceptual understanding of Deep Learning, LLMs, Diffusion models.
  • Experience with devops tools and principles (Git, Perforce, CI/CD, Docker)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$119,600 - $167,300 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
