Job Description

The Software Engineer I will contribute to the backend services and data infrastructure powering the AdTech platform within the EA Digital Platform (EADP) group. This role involves building backend APIs/services, monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines, designing data models/schemas, and integrating backend services with other systems. The engineer will be part of a team focused on creating engaging Ads experiences for players and connecting relevant brands/advertisers. The role is crucial in the live service-driven gaming model. Responsibilities include contributing to backend and data infrastructure development, ensuring the platform is performant, scalable, and available.
Must have:
  • 1+ years of professional backend/data pipeline experience
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases
  • Interest in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Understanding of basic data modeling

The Challenge Ahead

As the gaming industry shifts towards a live service-driven model, creating an engaging Ads experience and connecting relevant brands / advertisers to players is the key to EA's success. The AdTech team within EADP's Dynamic Experience group is on a journey to build industry-leading solutions that empower e2e Ads lifecycle management workflows and performant, scalable and available services.

As a Software Engineer I, you will report to the Director of Engineering and will contribute to the backend services and data infrastructure powering this platform. 


Responsibilities:

  • You will build backend APIs/services.
  • You will build and monitor ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • You will design data models/schemas for storage (relational, NoSQL).
  • You will integrate backend services with other systems.
  • You will contribute to backend/data infrastructure development.


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of professional backend/data pipeline experience (including internships)
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases
  • Interest in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Understanding of basic data modeling


This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.
