In Mixed Reality, people - not devices - are at the center of everything we do. We're incorporating groundbreaking technologies, from the revolutionary Holographic Processing Unit to computer vision, machine learning, human-computer interaction, and more. We're a growing team of talented engineers, program managers and artists, bringing greater training and situational awareness to the most extreme customers. Mixed Reality is a dynamic team from a variety of backgrounds, identities, work histories, and life experiences. Our diversity is the strength behind our collaborative culture. The Microsoft Mixed Reality team is seeking a Software Engineer II - Graphics to design, build, and maintain a Computer Vision (CV) service for use with Mixed Reality runtimes. This role will focus on various tasks related to computer graphics/runtime development both at high levels such as working unity and lower levels like Graphics and Neural Processing Unit development (GPU & NPU).
This role is likely to contribute to two distinct workstreams. The first is user-facing development of an Augmented Reality (AR) computer graphics application that validates the ability for our scene understanding runtimes to achieve expected experiences. The second are general opportunities within the team to contribute to cv runtime code specifically in the areas of low-level computing, GPU acceleration and NPU acceleration for Deep Neural Networks (DNN) models. In this role you will have guidance from experienced peers on targeted projects but be given the autonomy to drive these independently.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
