As a Software Engineering Specialist, you will collaborate with your team to design, build, and deliver innovative software applications and products. You will apply diverse skills, passion, curiosity, and a continuous learning attitude to contribute to a world-class software organization. Working closely with technical leads and stakeholders, you will build prototypes, evaluate tech stacks, provide strong recommendations, deliver challenging propositions, and enhance overall productivity.
Must Have
- Collaborate with team to design, build, and deliver software applications.
- Apply deep technical expertise in software application layer solutions.
- Develop and deliver scalable design blueprints across the end-to-end software development life cycle.
- Work with solution engineers towards practical implementation.
- Create and update APIs.
- Create/maintain interface documentations (Swagger spec, confluence links, Interface Specs, API functional Specs, backstage configs).
- Develop resilient, self-healing, and Cloud Native solutions.
- Be an active participant in DevOps with full accountability of CI/CD, test automation, support, and monitoring.
- Secure APIs as a design principle.
- Ensure APIs conform to Telstra’s engineering standards (ZERO security vulnerabilities, Sonar Quality gates, Coverity scans).
- Strong understanding of release practices.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.

Focus of the Role
As a Software Engineer with minimum 4+ years of experience, you thrive on understanding and translating customer needs into new products and capability. You apply deep technical expertise and experience in software application layer solutions, to develop and deliver scalable design blueprints across the end-to-end software development life cycle. What You’ll Do
- Work with solution engineers and work towards practical implementation.
- Create APIs from scratch and/or update existing APIs as per requirements.
- Create/maintain interface documentations e.g. Swagger spec, confluence links for solution briefs, Interface Specs, API functional Specs, backstage configs, etc.
- Develop solutions that are resilient, self-healing and Cloud Native.
- Be an active participant of team as DevOps with full accountability of CI/CD, test automation, support and monitoring functions within a team.
- Think of securing APIs as a design principle while building these APIs.
- Ensure the APIs that are built, conform to Telstra’s engineering standards (ZERO security vulnerabilities, Sonar Quality gates, Coverity scans, etc)
- Strong understanding of release practices.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have experience with the following:
- Strong technical knowledge of Integration Platforms, including API design / management, secure managed file transfers, enterprise services buses, extract transform and load capabilities.
- Experience with integration design patterns such as SOA, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience working with multiple integration technologies such as REST, SOAP, ETL and APIs
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of Web Service and API standards, Swagger Specs and design principles.
- Experience in creating and maintaining systems integration documentation (Interface Specs and Functional Specs)
- Has a strong technical background and development experience with Dynamics AX 2012 and Dynamics 365 Retail & Commerce

- Design and develop end-to-end solutions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail, POS, Commerce, and Finance modules
- Manage the customization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 using X++ and C#
- Able to design, develop, test, and support data integrations between third-party, legacy systems and Dynamics AX using AIF services, D365 web services and file-based integration, CDX (Common Data Exchange), and CDS (Common Data Service), .NET business connector, data entities and SQL server integration services (SSIS)
- Implement best practices and improve the ongoing maintenance process
- Reports development for Microsoft Dynamics AX (Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012-R3 and 365 by using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Manage architecture and perform both functional and technical analysis of solution designs in Dynamics 365 F&O
- Experience with Dynamics Commerce platform implementation, customizations, and integrations
- Experience with PSP (Payment Service Providers) integration with D365 F&O
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS) Management
- Assure that application design and implementation are consistent with technology strategy best practice
- Ability to assist in devising unit test plans
- Provide production support for software systems
- Drive seamless integration between D365 and the broader IT systems
- Excellent understanding of POS and store system design and execution with the Microsoft Dynamics ModernPOS, StoreCommerce and CloudPOS architectures
- Understanding of end-to-end ecommerce business functions
- Function as a subject matter expert for defining application requirements and executing use cases for retail and ecommerce implementation
- Experience and strong working knowledge across the Retail and Commerce and supporting modules and Microsoft products
- Order to cash
- Inventory, products, variants, attributes
- Catalogues, assortments, pricing, and discounts
- Online/Brick & Mortar channel configuration
- POS architecture and configuration
