As a Software Engineering Intern on Aptiv's Advanced Safety and User Experience (ASUX) team in Troy, MI, you will contribute to the development of next-generation driver assistance technologies for a new ADAS project. This role involves working with seasoned engineers on cutting-edge embedded software that processes radar, camera, and ultrasonic data to enable safe, autonomous vehicle behaviors, offering a real impact on future mobility.
Must have:
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of embedded software for ADAS and user experience applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Create custom scripts and decoding tools to interpret performance data.
  • Collaborate with the Integration Lead to configure platform components.
  • Support in CI/CD merge gate test cases development and smoke test frameworks.
  • Work with project owner and Scrum Coordinator to optimize Jira and Polarion dashboards.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting.

  • Interest in automotive software development and system integration.
  • Familiarity with Jira, CI/CD systems, or Polarion is a plus.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Your Role

As a Software Engineering Intern on our Advanced Safety and User Experience (ASUX) team, you’ll support the development of next-gen driver assistance technologies as part of a new ADAS project. Located in Troy, MI, you’ll collaborate with seasoned engineers on cutting-edge software that processes radar, camera, and ultrasonic data to enable safe, autonomous vehicle behaviors. What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of embedded software for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and user experience applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Create custom scripts and decoding tools to interpret performance data based on customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the Integration Lead to configure platform components.
  • Support in CI/CD merge gate test cases development and smoke test frameworks within the CI environment.
  • Work with project owner and Scrum Coordinator to optimize Jira and Polarion dashboards for project tracking.
  • Gain real-world experience in ADAS software integration and agile development environments.

What You’ll Need:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of embedded systems and Python scripting.
  • Interest in automotive software development and system integration.
