Job Summary
Salesforce is seeking an experienced and hands-on Software Engineer (SMTS) to join their team. This role focuses on building and scaling the next generation of infrastructure management services and operation solutions. The engineer will deliver multi-substrate infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms, applying AI tools to help Salesforce scale its infrastructure. The position involves collaborating across teams, designing and delivering automation for vulnerability detection and remediation, and leveraging AI/ML for intelligent data analysis and predictive security.
Must Have
- Collaborate with talented engineers, security specialists, and operations teams.
- Develop advanced, scalable automation to detect, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Leverage AI/ML models for intelligent data analysis, anomaly detection, and predictive security.
- Seamlessly connect and orchestrate platforms like Tenable, CrowdStrike, and other vendor agents.
- Strengthen Salesforce’s defenses and safeguard customer trust.
- Be a great team player.
- Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
- Experience in automation.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or similar.
- Ability to connect different computer tools using APIs.
- Knowledge of cloud computer systems like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development, Code review, all phases of SDLC and CI/CD Pipelines.
Good to Have
- Experience in finding and fixing computer vulnerabilities.
- Knowledge about different kinds of computer security tools.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new things.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with three years of experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with five years of progressively responsible experience.

Job Description

Your charter will be to deliver multi substrate infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms, applying AI tools, that help Salesforce scale infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with talented engineers, security specialists, and operations teams to solve complex challenges and build resilient solutions.
- Design and Deliver Automation: Develop advanced, scalable automation to detect, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities—turning manual processes into efficient, self-operating systems.
- Apply AI and Machine Learning: Leverage AI/ML models for intelligent data analysis, anomaly detection, and predictive security, accelerating our ability to identify and mitigate threats.
- Integrate Security Tooling: Seamlessly connect and orchestrate platforms like Tenable, CrowdStrike, and other vendor agents to enable unified, autonomous operations.
- Expand Your Expertise: Gain deep knowledge of large-scale cloud infrastructure, security tooling, and modern vulnerability management practices while staying ahead of emerging technologies.
- Impact at Scale: Your contributions will directly strengthen Salesforce’s defenses and safeguard our customers’ trust against evolving cyber threats.
Required Qualifications
- You are a great team player and like to work with others.
- You know a lot about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
- You have experience making computer programs that do things by themselves (automation).
- You are good at computer languages like Python, Go, or similar ones.
- You can connect different computer tools together using something called APIs.
- You know about cloud computer systems like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- You know Test-Driven Development, Code review and all phases of SDLC and CI/CD Pipelines
Preferred Qualifications
- It would be great if you have worked on finding and fixing computer vulnerabilities before.
- It's a plus if you know about different kinds of computer security tools.
- Being curious and wanting to learn new things is always a good trait!
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field OR Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or related field of study, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $172,000 to $236,500.
