Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you will report to the QA Site Leader and you will be a crucial part of our dynamic and enthusiastic team, working collaboratively. Your main responsibility will be to meticulously test our games throughout the development process, identifying potential issues and bugs while also contributing to preventive strategies to enhance the game quality. This exciting role is a unique opportunity to influence the quality of our games and heighten player satisfaction.

What you'll do:

  • You will build working relationships with members of the development, production, and design teams to enhance the player experience. This will involve feature planning, analyzing internal and external data/player data, and conducting feature/design reviews.
  • You will identify opportunities for early QA involvement, providing feedback on feature design and advocating for improvements in in-game features based on solid data analysis, thereby supporting defect prevention and containment activities.
  • Design a comprehensive test plan based on the project requirements, develop detailed test cases and perform both manual and automated testing to ensure coverage.
  • You will systematically analyze bugs and track them to closure, ensuring communication throughout the process of their identification and resolution.
  • Using an experimental mindset, you will proactively propose and provide solutions to quality problems.
  • You will evaluate potential risks, ensuring prompt escalation, and propose recommendations based on research and analysis.
  • You will use change control processes to measure the impact of evolving quality strategies.
  • You are a mentor for peers, assisting with and growing their knowledge.
  • You will always promote a "Player First" approach and be an advocate for the player in everything we do to help us achieve a high-quality experience for our players.

What you will need to be successful :

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, including test planning, implementation, and execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of software/game development, including both agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience tracing and analyzing logs to uncover details related to software failures or bugs.
  • Experience identifying potential risks and effectively escalating these concerns to the appropriate stakeholders to resolution.
  • Experience with defect and test case management tools (e.g JIRA, Test Rail).
  • Experience working within a continuous delivery or continuous deployment model.
  • Experience with any form of scripted test automation will be advantageous.
  • Fluent proficiency in English.
