ISG is seeking a Software Strategic Sourcing Advisor (Advisor) with a minimum of 10 years of enterprise software cloud and on-premise license negotiations, costs modeling, data analysis, scenario analysis, opportunity identification, benchmarking, pricing analyses and cost modeling. The Advisor leads or supports projects for mid-size to large software sourcing engagements and critical workstreams for complex multi-software sourcing engagements. This position operates independently, working with clients to develop effective software sourcing strategies and implementation plans while providing high customer satisfaction results.
Must have:
  • 10+ years of enterprise cloud and enterprise software strategic sourcing expertise
  • Possess Quantitative Analysis (financial or price modeling) skills
  • Experience with supporting negotiations agreements with leading software vendors (SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle, Broadcom, Adobe, Cisco, VMWare, Dell/EMC, Google, AWS, IBM/Red Hat)
  • Ability to lead non-enterprise software negotiations
  • Strong presentation skills, working with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules, and assignments
  • Project management (simple to complex); able to handle and prioritize multiple projects
  • Presenting and selling ideas at multiple levels in a large organization
  • Understanding of enterprise sourcing cultures and behaviors
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Software provider research and market analysis skills
  • Identify and cultivate additional projects within existing Clients and support sales calls
  • Support brand by authoring web articles, creating market collaterals, and delivering presentations
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in a technical or scientific field (IT, finance, engineering, math/analytics) or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced knowledge with MS Excel
  • Working knowledge with MS-Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Copilot, Project, Teams, Outlook)
Good to have:
  • MBA/MS or other advanced degree(s) desirable

Position Overview

ISG is seeking a Software Strategic Sourcing Advisor (Advisor) with a minimum of 10 years of enterprise software cloud and on-premise license negotiations, costs modeling, data analysis, scenario analysis, opportunity identification, benchmarking, pricing analyses and cost modeling. The Advisor leads or supports projects for mid-size to large software sourcing engagements and critical workstreams for complex multi-software sourcing engagements. They should possess analytical, problem solving, conceptual and creative thinking, organizational, time management, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

This position is under supervision of a Director but individuals in this role are expected to operate independently and to work with clients to develop effective software sourcing strategies and implementation plans while providing high customer satisfaction results to our clients.

Requirements

  • 10 + years of enterprise cloud and enterprise (i.e., perpetual, term, and subscription) software strategic sourcing (not transactional) expertise
  • Possess Quantitative Analysis (financial or price modeling-both creation of model itself and performing the analysis from which a negotiation strategy is determined, requires comprehension of complex business objectives and a high level of attention to detail) is required
  • Experience with supporting negotiations agreements with the leading software vendors (such as SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle, Broadcom, Adobe, Cisco, VMWare, Dell/EMC, Google, AWS, IBM/Red Hat and more) including understanding of their commercial models, licensing metrics, market positioning and sales tactics, and corresponding vendor specific sourcing strategies. Also has the ability to lead non-enterprise software negotiations.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a client organization
  • Ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules, and assignments
  • Project management (simple to complex); able to handle and prioritize multiple projects
  • Presenting and selling ideas at multiple levels in a large organization, including support for and participation in ISG sales pursuits and presentations
  • Understanding of enterprise sourcing cultures and behaviors
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Software provider research and market analysis skills
  • Identify and cultivate additional projects within existing Client’s and support sales calls as required
  • Support our brand by authoring web articles, creating market collaterals (such as case studies, etc.) and delivering presentations at ISG and other events on key issues, trends and strategies affecting software licensing and digital transformation

Education

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in a technical or scientific field ideally in information technology, finance, engineering, math/analytics or equivalent work experience
  • MBA/MS or other advanced degree(s) desirable

Travel

Occasionally, but potentially up to 20% or as per project requirement

Computer Literacy

  • Demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge with MS Excel.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge with MS-Office suite of software applications and tools, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Copilot, Project, Teams, and Outlook

  • Preferably in Bangalore
