At Databricks, this role focuses on leveraging technical expertise to demonstrate the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, helping customers solve complex data challenges. You will build strong client relationships, act as an expert in big data analytics, and become a trusted advisor on architecture, design, and implementation. The role involves authoring reference architectures, leading workshops, and contributing to the Databricks community, ultimately inspiring customers to make informed decisions and advance their businesses with data science and analytics.
Must have:
  • Form successful relationships with clients, providing technical and business value.
  • Operate as an expert in big data analytics and a trusted advisor on architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Author reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications.
  • Grow knowledge and expertise to a technical and/or industry specialist level.
  • Experience in technical consultancy and/or presales with a background in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Science, AI, or Machine Learning.
  • Experience diving deeper into solution architecture and design.
  • Engage customers in technical sales, challenge questions, guide outcomes, and communicate value propositions.
  • Develop customer relationships and build internal partnerships.
  • Prior experience with coding in Python or SQL and willingness to learn Spark.
  • Proficient with big data Analytics technologies and public cloud platforms.
  • Experienced in use case discovery, scoping, and delivering complex solution architecture designs.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members in field engineering and customer engagement skills.
Good to have:
  • Databricks or Cloud Certification
  • Ability to commute to London offices regularly and travel 20-30% across UK&I and EMEA.
  • Business proficiency in both Dutch and English

Reporting to the Manager, Field Engineering.

The impact you will have:

  • Form successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory, providing technical and business value to Databricks customers in collaboration with Account Executives.
  • Operate as an expert in big data analytics to excite customers about Databricks. You will develop into a ‘champion’ and trusted advisor on multiple issues of architecture, design, and implementation to lead to the successful adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
  • Author reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications to scale best practices in your field and support customers. Lead workshops, seminars, and meet-ups to help build the Databricks community in your region and scale best practices in your field.
  • Grow your knowledge and expertise to the level of a technical and/or industry specialist.

What we look for:

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to join our EMEA Greenfield Business Unit, focused on landing new customers across both enterprise and high-growth start-up segments. This role offers the opportunity to be based in Amsterdam, with regular collaboration across the EMEA region and close alignment with our London-based team.

  • Experience, technical consultancy and/or presales with a background in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or Data Science / AI / Machine Learning.
  • Work with customers to help them adopt Databricks and solve critical challenges in Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, and Machine Learning/AI. Experience in any vertical is welcome.
  • Experience diving deeper into solution architecture and design.
  • Engage customers in technical sales, challenge their questions, guide clear outcomes, and communicate technical and value propositions.
  • Develop customer relationships and build internal partnerships with account executives and teams.
  • Prior experience with coding in a core programming language (i.e., Python, SQL) and willingness to learn a base level of Spark.
  • Proficient with big data Analytics technologies, including hands-on expertise with complex proofs-of-concept and public cloud platforms (s)
  • Experienced in use case discovery, scoping, and delivering complex solution architecture designs to multiple audiences, requiring an ability to context switch in levels of technical depth.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, helping them develop strong field engineering and customer engagement skills.
  • Nice to have:
  • Databricks or Cloud Certification
  • The candidate must be able to commute to London offices regularly and travel approximately 20-30% of the time across UK&I and EMEA for customer visits
  • Business proficiency in both Dutch and English
