As a Sound Designer at Sandbox Interactive you will primarily be responsible for the design and implementation of Sound Effects in our games and Voice Lines editing and implementation will also be an occasional responsibility. You’ll be working alongside the Lead Audio Designer, and Sound Programmers, following the game's audio vision to create, implement and maintain Audio Content for upcoming Updates to Albion Online. Your goal is to ensure the highest quality across all aspects of the game’s audio is achieved. Reporting to the Lead Audio Designer, you will have a big hand in defining and executing the audio direction for the project, both creatively and technically. The ideal candidate will have experience as a sound designer on mid sized titles, strong creative sound design skills, technical integration skills, and knowledge of dynamic mixing systems. They ideally have an affinity for creating spells, creatures and combat as well as UI sound effects for fantasy games. Additional experience with dialogue design, and music system design is a plus.
Must have:
  • 2+ years of experience as a Sound Designer within the games industry
  • Proven experience in sound design, technical implementation, and mixing abilities for games
  • Strong creative sound design skills and high production value
  • Experience with WWise and Pro Tools or Reaper
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Good communication and estimation skills
  • Well organized and self-motivated
Good to have:
  • Understanding of scripting or coding
  • Experience working with speech and dialogue including voice design
  • Basic experience working with Unity

We are seeking an experienced Sound Designer to join our team. You’ll be working alongside the Lead Audio Designer, and Sound Programmers, following the game's audio vision to create, implement and maintain Audio Content for upcoming Updates to Albion Online.

YOUR GAME: 

  • Create & implement world-class original audio including: Foley, ambiences, creatures, spells, weapons and UI SFX

  • Embrace established audio direction and quality benchmarks

  • Work with the Lead Audio Designer to define and maintain vision

  • Present audio interests within cross-discipline feature groups 

  • Document audio features you work on

YOUR TALENT

Minimum Qualifications

  • You must have been an Sound Designer within the games industry with at least 2+ complete cycle of shipped games (or 3 years of professional experience)

  • Proven experience in sound design, technical implementation, and mixing abilities for games

  • Strong creative sound design skills and high production value when it comes to sound design

  • Experienced with WWise and Pro Tools or Reaper  

  • Take ownership of areas of design work and demonstrate initiative and autonomy

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

  • Good communication and estimation skills 

  • Well organized and self-motivated approach to your workload

Preferred Qualifications

  • An understanding of scripting or coding is a plus

  • Experience of working with speech and dialogue including voice design

  • Basic experience working with Unity
