Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Sourcing Specialist to bridge our culinary vision with operational execution. In this role, you will be the primary liaison between our Culinary team and CookUnity vendors, ensuring chefs have access to high-quality and cost-effective ingredients. When an item is not available through our existing vendors, you'll research and propose new sources, playing a key role in product innovation, operational continuity, and cost management. This is a fully remote position, based out of Lima, Peru.
Must have:
  • Act as primary point of contact between Culinary and Procurement/Supply Chain for ingredient sourcing needs
  • Source ingredients aligning with chefs’ recipes and brand quality standards
  • Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers
  • Collaborate with culinary leads to understand ingredient functionality and culinary implications
  • Ensure ingredient specs, lead times, and quality standards are documented and communicated
  • Manage sourcing pipelines for new menu launches and R&D projects
  • Maintain a live tracker of ingredient needs, sourcing status, and vendor communication logs
  • Partner with Procurement and Quality teams for timely onboarding of new ingredients and suppliers
  • Monitor supplier and ingredient performance and contribute to corrective action processes
  • 3+ years in food sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or related field
  • Strong understanding of culinary ingredients, especially fresh and specialty items
  • Experience working in a culinary-driven environment
  • Advanced English skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple requests with tight timelines
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a proactive mindset

  • Knowledge of sustainable or regional sourcing practices
  • Experience with sourcing platforms, ERP systems, or procurement software

About the Team:

The Supply Chain team owns the whole raw materials, packaging & all kinds of items (office/cleaning & kitchen) supply and its distribution to the chefs/fulfillment. It’s a high-impact role with the ability to communicate constantly between all different areas of CookUnity. Our customers use our digital experience weekly to find their favorite meals from our 300+ menu items, and the Supply Chain team is responsible for making that easy and smooth for the operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Source ingredients that align with chefs’ recipes and brand quality standards, balancing cost, availability, and seasonality.
  • Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers when current vendor offerings fall short.
  • Collaborate with culinary leads to understand ingredient functionality, substitutions, and culinary implications.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure ingredient specs, lead times, and quality standards are clearly documented and communicated.
  • Manage sourcing pipelines for new menu launches and R&D projects.
  • Maintain a live tracker of ingredient needs, sourcing status, and vendor communication logs.
  • Partner with the Procurement and Quality teams to ensure timely onboarding of new ingredients and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier and ingredient performance, contribute to corrective action processes when needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in food sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or a related field (ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment).
  • Strong understanding of culinary ingredients, especially fresh and specialty items.
  • Experience working in a culinary-driven environment (e.g., meal kit, foodservice, hospitality, etc.)
  • Advanced English skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple requests with tight timelines.
  • Experience with sourcing platforms, ERP systems, or procurement software a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a proactive mindset.
