Job Summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Specialist Technician in telecommunications or electrotechnics to join its Operational and Digital Technologies team. The role involves participating in engineering projects across various design domains, including wired and wireless telecommunications, structured cabling, fiber optics, networking, IT infrastructure, video surveillance, and access/intrusion control. The technician will collaborate with engineers, conduct field surveys, ensure drawing compliance, propose solutions, monitor electrotechnical work, prepare cost estimates, and apply quality control procedures.

Must Have

  • Work closely with engineers on major projects
  • Conduct field surveys to understand existing issues
  • Ensure drawings meet project requirements and established standards
  • Study problems and propose solutions
  • Monitor various electrotechnical works
  • Prepare quantity and cost estimates
  • Participate in the realization of plans, specifications, and data analysis

  • College diploma with specialization in telecommunications or electrotechnics
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of the Quebec Electrical Code
  • Ability to design and prepare cost estimates, specifications, and technical reports
  • Excellent planning and oral and written interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite software
  • Construction site safety card (ASP)

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of wireless building systems and electrotechnical equipment
  • Experience in consulting engineering

Job Description

We are looking for a Specialist Technician in telecommunications or electrotechnics to join our dynamic team. The operational and digital technologies team provides services for CIMA+'s various business sectors: transport, building, infrastructure, and energy. You will participate in the various stages necessary for the realization of engineering projects in different design areas including: wired and wireless telecommunications, structured cabling, fiber optics, networking, IT infrastructure, video surveillance, access and intrusion control. The mentoring and resources made available to you will allow you to complete assigned projects according to CIMA+'s standards of excellence.

Main responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers on major projects
  • Conduct field surveys to fully understand existing issues before implementing recommended measures
  • Ensure that the drawings produced meet project requirements, according to established practices and standards
  • Study problems and propose solutions
  • Monitor various electrotechnical works
  • Prepare quantity and cost estimates, according to established methods
  • Participate in the realization of plans, specifications, process and analyze data
  • Apply quality control procedures

Qualifications

  • College diploma with specialization in telecommunications or electrotechnics
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in telecommunications, electrotechnics or a transversal field
  • Good knowledge of the Quebec Electrical Code
  • Ability to design and prepare cost estimates, specifications, and technical reports
  • Excellent planning and oral and written interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite software
  • Construction site safety card (ASP)
  • Knowledge of wireless building systems and electrotechnical equipment (asset)
  • Experience in consulting engineering (asset)
