Job Description

As Sr. Accounting and Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for operational analysis and Financial analysis in close partnership with the Manager of FP&A and Assistant Controller. The role requires strong analytical and modeling expertise, combined with deep knowledge of US GAAP and flexibility to collaborate across US time zones. This role will be working with the finance and accounting department, actively contributing to monthly close, financial analysis, to evaluate performance, improve decision-making, and support a fast-growing SaaS company.
Must have:
  • Analyze current and historical Operational data to identify patterns and insights
  • Assist monthly close, trend analysis, budget vs. actuals, and operational KPI reviews
  • Assist in preparing clear, concise reports and operational dashboard and analysis
  • Support preparation of timely and accurate US GAAP financial statements
  • Research accounting and market trends, assessing impacts on business performance and compliance
  • Contribute to policy development and initiatives that improve efficiency and financial growth
  • Work closely with Romania accounting partners, ensuring all filings, regulatory filings are completed on time and on schedule
  • Act as a point of contact between US and Romania partners
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Experience preparing US GAAP financial statements
  • Accounting experience in Romania
  • Technical accounting expertise across IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Prior exposure to system implementations
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven team player
  • Flexibility to align with US working hours
  • Start-up and SaaS accounting background
Good to have:
  • Degree in accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Finance

JOB OVERVIEW

This role will be working with the finance and accounting department, actively contributing to monthly close, financial analysis, to evaluate performance, improve decision-making, and support a fast-growing SaaS company.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Analyze current and historical Operational data to identify patterns and insights
  • Assist monthly close, trend analysis, budget vs. actuals, and operational KPI reviews
  • Assist in preparing clear, concise reports and operational dashboard and analysis
  • Support preparation of timely and accurate US GAAP financial statements
  • Research accounting and market trends, assessing impacts on business performance and compliance
  • Contribute to policy development and initiatives that improve efficiency and financial growth
  • Work closely with Romania accounting partners, ensuring all filings, regulatory filings are completed on time and on schedule
  • As a point of contact between US and Romania partners

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical, and financial modeling skills, with ability to interpret large datasets and identify key drivers
  • Experience preparing US GAAP financial statements; familiarity with IFRS
  • Accounting experience in Romania is required
  • Prior experience in banking, financial services, or SaaS/software companies strongly preferred
  • Technical accounting expertise across IFRS and UK GAAP; ability to evaluate impact of new standards
  • Prior exposure to system implementations; adaptable to learning new tools quickly
  • Excellent attention to detail; able to identify data inconsistencies and patterns
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present insights clearly
  • Proven team player with ability to work cross-functionally and across global time zones.
  • Flexibility to align with US working hours when needed
  • Start-up and SaaS accounting background required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Degree in accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Finance
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Experience in banking or corporate finance environments
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality financial analysis in fast-growth companies
