Sr. Designer (Mechanical Draftsman)

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Analysis and Design:
• Analyze project specifications and requirements specific to the oil and gas sector, focusing on layout and 3D modeling of Incinerator packages.
• Design and detail mechanical components, including equipment, piping, support structures, and pipe racks.
• Drafting and Detailing:
• Prepare various types of technical drawings, such as parts, assemblies, and products, including sectional profiles and multiple views.
• Generate detailed General Arrangement (GA) drawings, foundation drawings, fabrication drawings, and piping isometrics.
• 3D Modeling:
• Utilize CADWORKS or equivalent software to create both 2D and 3D models of mechanical systems and structures.
• Collaborate closely with the lead engineer to ensure designs meet the project’s specifications and requirements.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Attend model/design review meetings with global offices, clients, and project stakeholders.
• Address and resolve comments and issues related to models and drawings, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client expectations.
• Work closely with the design team and coordinate with other designers to generate quality outputs within project timelines.
• Quality Control and Standards Compliance:
• Ensure all designs and drawings comply with relevant codes, industry standards, and dimensional specifications.
• Maintain a high level of quality control and attention to detail in all design deliverables.
• Additional Duties:
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the engineering and design management teams.

Qualifications

• 10-15 yrs experience, ITI Diploma Mechanical Engineering
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsman or Designer, with significant exposure to the oil and gas sector.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (preferably CADWORKS or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, piping, support structures, and pipe racks.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, dimensional standards, and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and other design professionals.

• Expertise in 2D and 3D design, drafting, and modeling.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex specifications and requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy in designs.
