As part of the TechOps team, you’ll report to the TechOps manager and work closely with developers, product engineers, and other infrastructure teams. You’ll contribute to our CI/CD, monitoring, automation, and cloud efforts, helping ensure Fandom’s platform remains fast, stable, and secure as we grow.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving deployment systems, and enabling engineering teams to move faster and safer.

You Will...

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-availability systems supporting global user traffic.
  • Improve and maintain our CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code systems (Terraform, Chef).
  • Contribute to planning meetings, stand-ups, RCAs, and retrospectives — occasionally leading initiatives or representing DevOps.
  • Develop and maintain tools for operational tasks, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and performance/security monitoring.
  • Support Kubernetes-based service deployment and configuration across wiki platforms and other product areas.
  • Continuously evaluate existing systems against industry best practices and propose improvements.
  • Participate in our on-call rotation to maintain production stability and respond to incidents.
  • Collaborate with and mentor other engineers in a supportive, cross-functional environment.

You Have...

  • 5+ years in Technical/Network Operations, DevOps, SRE, or equivalent roles in high-scale environments.
  • Experience managing production infrastructure for large-scale platforms (e.g., 10M+ monthly active users).
  • Hands-on experience with: Linux systems administration, Kubernetes and container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.), Configuration management (preferably Chef), Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages like Go, Python, or Bash.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus) and reliability engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing) and secure systems practices.
  • Experience with cloud providers (especially Google Cloud Platform or AWS).

Bonus Points...

  • Knowledge of distributed systems architecture or edge caching/CDNs.
  • Exposure to security-forward infrastructure practices and tooling (e.g., Vault, BGP hardening, VPNs).
  • Familiarity with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary Range = $129,938 - $216,563 (Actual salary available will vary based on location and market factors.)
  • Vibrant team culture
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision
