As a Sr. Software Engineering Manager at Highspot, you will lead a team of engineers, inspire and motivate them to do their best work. You will bring your technical expertise to the evolution of Highspot’s software and ensure the architecture and stack are optimized. You will collaborate with key partners in your product area, including Designers, Product Managers, and TPMs. You will also mentor engineers, uphold Highspot’s culture, create a collaborative environment, and identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction. This role involves both technical leadership and people management.

Must have:

10+ years experience designing and building software.
5+ years managing software engineering teams.
Experience with React, Typescript, HTML/CSS, GraphQL, Ruby.

About the Role

As a Sr. Software Engineering Manager at Highspot, you will inspire, lead, and grow a team of creative and talented core engineers within the Analytics product. You’ll support the engineers on your team in building software with a spark of magic. You’ll bring your technical expertise and proven people management skills to bear on strategic decisions about our Analytics capabilities, team operations, team norms, and engineering culture. You’ll also be a key decision-maker within your product area. Our ideal candidate should have strong technical skills as an engineer; hands-on experience to design and build scalable, high-quality customer-facing software; is a team player who enjoys working collaboratively with architects, Product Managers, and Engineers; loves building / scaling a team; is values-driven and cares deeply about culture self-managed, curious, and resourceful.

What You'll Do

Lead a team of engineers, inspiring and motivating your team to do their best work. As we continue building our Platform, as well as jumping in to help with design and code reviews.
Bring your technical expertise to the evolution of Highspot’s software; ensure that our architecture and stack are optimized to keep pace with the demands of hyper-growth; position your product area (and support adjacent product areas) for continued high-availability and reliability across multiple worldwide data centers
Collaborate with key partners in your product area, including Designers, Product Managers, and TPMs. Ensure decisions are communicated effectively within and outside of your team to all stakeholders
Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of the engineers on your team. Enforcing accountability through relevant, and objective performance targets and timely feedback and coaching
Uphold and build upon Highspot’s culture, ensuring that Engineering is a welcoming, inclusive place to work, and that will meet and exceed our DE&I goals with a commitment to diversity
Create a collaborative environment where all levels of engineers can contribute in meaningful ways
Partner with the Services team to understand what drives customer joy in your product area and identify opportunities to raise the bar.
Advocate for the tools, process, and resources the dev team needs to enable their ongoing success and unlock their ability to innovate.

Your Background

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of hands-on experience designing and building scalable, high-quality customer-facing software.
5+ years managing diverse software engineering teams.
Experience with some of the tools we use or plan to use to continue iterating at Highspot include languages like React, Typescript, HTML/CSS, GraphQL, Ruby
Proven success in attracting and retaining top engineering talent from diverse backgrounds
Proven success as a partner and collaborator who prioritizes the success of the team over individual aspirations
Entrepreneurial spirit, priding yourself on getting things done with a high level of quality
Previous experience designing and building software products at scale
Deep understanding of the SDLC for SaaS applications

Base salary range: $180,000 - $313,000. Employees are eligible to receive stock options and may also receive other forms of compensation.

The above represents total expected compensation for this role. Actual compensation will depend on various job-related factors, including, but not limited to, location, experience, and job qualifications.
