The Sr. Manager of Online and Retail Systems, SAP, leads a global team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Solution Architects. This role is a key partner with the Retail organization, responsible for delivering SAP projects impacting Retail and Online stores. The candidate will develop and execute the overall Retail systems strategy and roadmap, working closely with technical and business communities, including executive levels. The role requires strong Retail and Online business acumen, deep SAP and emerging technology expertise, and the ability to resolve complex issues creatively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Must have:
  • Lead a global team of SAP Project Managers and Developers.
  • Deliver customer- and employee-facing solutions for Apple Retail Stores and Apple Online Store.

  • Possess strong knowledge of retail and online business processes.
  • Experience integrating with digital marketplaces (T-Mall, Duoyin, WhatsApp).
  • Implement emerging technologies, including GenAI/ML in retail/online/operations/supply chain.
  • Demonstrate exceptional executive communication skills.
  • Build trust and credibility with business partners.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors, partners, and business stakeholders.

The Sr. Manager of Online and Retail Systems, SAP, leads a highly skilled global team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Solution Architects and is a key member of the SAP and IS&T Global leadership teams. This role is a key partner with the Retail organization, and will have responsibility for delivering the portfolio of SAP projects that impact our Retail and Online stores. The role is responsible for working with the business and partners to develop and execute the overall Retail systems strategy and roadmap. The candidate will work closely with all levels of both technical and business communities, including executive levels. The ideal candidate should have both strong Retail and Online business acumen, 10+ years of experience working in this space, and deep SAP and emerging technology expertise. The role requires the candidate to be able to understand and resolve a wide variety of highly complex issues or demands in creative, effective ways, working independently and seeking direction when appropriate. It is key that the individual for this role be able to not only lead effectively in a global, fast-paced, matrixed environment, but also enjoy it. Some international travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a global team of SAP Project Managers and Developers responsible for delivering customer- and employee-facing solutions that are used in Apple Retail Stores around the world and in the Apple Online Store.
  • Cultivate a culture of rapid learning, iteration, and innovation.
  • Work cross-functionally with partners across the company to deliver exceptional experiences for our customers and employees.
  • Lead in a variety of ways - energy, action, expertise, relationships, and collaboration with the goal of building the greatest experiences on earth.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing a large, global portfolio of cross-functional projects and teams in the retail or online space, delivering them on time and on budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, develop, and direct a team of project managers, developers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to get the very best out of a team.
  • Deep expertise and experience implementing SAP and non-SAP technologies in retail and online contexts - configuration and customization of SAP S4/HANA Retail, Cloud, and/or Business Technology Platform development, SAP Hybris and/or Cloud Commerce implementation experience, Point of Sale integration, Configure-Price-Quote solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of retail and online business processes - back of house operations to include inventory management, use of RFID solutions, reservation systems, omni-channel solutions, buy online and pickup in store solutions, ship from store solutions, planograms and assortment management, in-store traffic management.
  • Experience integrating with digital marketplaces and solutions such as T-Mall, Duoyin, WhatsApp.
  • Track record of successfully implementing emerging technologies, including GenAI/ML in retail, online, operations, or supply chain context.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to produce executive-level briefings
  • Quick to build trust and credibility with business partners. A great communicator with deep subject matter expertise and a proven track record of delivery. Strong bias for innovation and problem-solving. Great influence skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with vendors, partners, and business stakeholders to build capability and implementation roadmaps.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience managing large SAP teams in the Retail and Online eCommerce space.
  • Bachelor’s degree
