This Sr. Technical Product Manager role requires 8+ years building B2C/D2C products at scale. The ideal candidate blends product strategy with deep technical fluency, owning roadmaps end-to-end, shaping data-driven consumer experiences, and partnering closely with engineering, design, data, and go-to-market teams. Experience in sports, media, or entertainment (live events, streaming, fan engagement, subscriptions, ad-supported experiences) is strongly preferred.
Must have:
  • Own product lifecycle from discovery through launch and iteration.
  • Translate strategy to execution, build roadmaps, define MVPs, write PRDs/user stories.
  • Lead technical discovery with engineering and data teams.
  • Ship data-to-consumer experiences (personalization, recommendations, real-time stats/feeds).
  • Integrate third-party services (identity/payments, subscriptions, analytics, ad tech, DRM).
  • Define success metrics, run A/B tests, improve acquisition, engagement, retention, revenue.
  • Partner across Design/UX, Editorial/Content Ops, Marketing/CRM, Ad Ops, Legal/Rights, Customer Support.
  • Navigate compliance & rights (GDPR/CCPA, COPPA, geofencing/blackout rules, DRM, accessibility).
  • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to executives and stakeholders.
  • Triage backlogs, balance platform vs. feature work, re-prioritize quickly.
Good to have:
  • Experience with sports data providers and rights/blackout logic.
  • Experience with subscriptions/entitlements and growth loops.
  • Familiarity with ad tech, DRM, and OTT ecosystems.
  • Background in event operations or fan communities.

The ideal candidate blends product strategy with deep technical fluency, owning roadmaps end‑to‑end, shaping data‑driven consumer experiences, and partnering closely with engineering, design, data, and go‑to‑market teams. Experience in sports, media, or entertainment (live events, streaming, fan engagement, subscriptions, ad‑supported experiences) is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product lifecycle from discovery through launch and iteration for high‑impact consumer features across web and mobile (apps and responsive web).
  • Translate strategy to execution, build and maintain a clear roadmap, define MVPs, write PRDs/user stories with acceptance criteria, and manage backlogs.
  • Lead technical discovery with engineering and data teams (APIs, SDKs, event schemas, data contracts, microservices) to ensure feasibility, performance, and scale.
  • Ship data‑to‑consumer experiences (personalization, recommendations, real‑time stats/feeds, scores, notifications), balancing UX, latency, and cost.
  • Integrate third‑party services such as identity/payments, subscriptions/entitlements, analytics, A/B testing, ad tech, CDNs, content rights/DRM, sports data providers.
  • Define success metrics, run A/B tests, and use insights to improve acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue.
  • Partner across Design/UX, Editorial/Content Ops, Marketing/CRM, Ad Ops, Legal/Rights, and Customer Support to deliver cohesive outcomes.
  • Navigate compliance & rights (GDPR/CCPA, COPPA where applicable; geofencing/blackout rules; DRM; accessibility).
  • Effective communication to executives and stakeholders regarding progress, risks, and trade‑offs with data‑backed recommendations.

Must Requirements:

  • 8+ years in product management with 5+ years focused on consumer (B2C/D2C) apps or platforms; prior engineering or data/analytics background is a plus.
  • Technical fluency in modern architectures: REST/GraphQL APIs, event streaming (Kafka/Kinesis), microservices, CI/CD, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), CDNs, caching.
  • Data product mindset: experience defining event taxonomies, working with CDPs, segmentation, recommendations, and real‑time personalization.
  • Domain experience in sports/media/entertainment—e.g., live scoring/real‑time feeds, OTT/streaming (HLS/DASH), highlights/short‑form video, editorial workflows, rights/entitlements, ticketing or fan engagement/loyalty.
  • Customer research, JTBD, journey mapping, and partnering with design to deliver elegant, accessible experiences.
  • Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), backlog hygiene, dependency management, and risk mitigation across squads/platform teams.
  • Prioritization mastery: expert in MoSCoW (Must/Should/Could/Won’t), RICE, WSJF/Cost of Delay, and impact‑vs‑effort scoring; able to triage backlogs, balance platform vs. feature work, and re‑prioritize quickly based on data, risk, and dependencies.
  • Clear communication: ability to write PRDs, present to executives, and align diverse stakeholders around measurable outcomes.
  • Must be based in London, UK and available to work in-office 4 days per week.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with sports data providers (e.g., Stats Perform, Sportradar, Genius Sports) and rights/blackout logic.
  • Experience with subscriptions/entitlements (App Store/Play billing, in‑app purchases) and growth loops (referrals, CRM, push/in‑app messaging).
  • Familiarity with ad tech (client‑side/server‑side ad insertion, IMA, Open Measurement, brand safety), DRM (Widevine/FairPlay), and OTT ecosystems.
  • Background in event operations (live events, scoring, schedule management) or fan communities.

Salary Range:

  • £70 – £85 per hour
