This Staff 3D Reconstruction and Computer Vision Engineer role at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. involves leading the research and development of critical 3D Reconstruction and Computer Vision Hardware Accelerators. The individual will synthesize ambiguous requirements, apply advanced Video and Computer Vision Engineering knowledge, and design, develop, implement, and verify complex hardware and firmware tasks. Responsibilities include working with 3D Reconstruction algorithms, Motion Processing, Depth processing, and memory subsystems, ensuring KPIs, performance, area, and power metrics are met, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for various markets.
Must have:
  • Lead, plan, synthesize ambiguous or conflicting requirements.
  • Research and develop critical 3D Reconstruction and Computer Vision Hardware Accelerators.
  • Strong understanding of 3D and Computer Vision fundamentals and mathematics (SLAM, 3D pose tracking, 3D scene understanding, 3D Mesh Simplification, human pose estimation, mathematical optimization).
  • Design, develop, implement, and verify complex HW and FW tasks (3D Reconstruction algorithms, Motion Processing unit, Depth processing unit, memory sub system, Features).
  • Perform complex architecture, standard study, algorithm, and feature decomposition.
  • Drive requirements and specifications for hardware development.
  • Ensure advanced KPIs, systems performance, and area and power metrics are met.
  • Drive triage of complex problems to determine root causes and address issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design verification and test).
  • Lead the design of a 3D reconstruction system and develop complex features.
  • Write detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions.
  • Contribute at design reviews and project meetings.
  • Master's Degree with 2 years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 6 years experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

General Summary:

Designs, develops, implements, and verifies complex HW and FW tasks including 3D Reconstruction algorithms, Motion Processing unit, Depth processing unit, memory sub system, and Features. Performs complex architecture, standard study, algorithm, and feature decomposition to drive requirements and specifications for hardware development. Ensures advanced KPIs, systems performance, and area and power metrics are met. Drives triage of complex problems to determine root causes and addresses the issues. Collaborates with cross-functional teams (e.g., design verification and test) to analyze product requirements for new architecture for CV modules or the modification of an existing design for various markets including mobile, automotive, IoT, and others. Leads the design of a 3D reconstruction system and develops complex features and components in line with proposals or roadmaps for advanced products. Writes detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for complex projects to guide users and/or customers in using or implementing output. Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings and communicates and implements a development plan. Will accept a Master's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field and two (2) years of experience in a related occupation. Will also accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field and six (6) years of progressive experience in a related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.

Pay Range: $167,000.00 - $250,600.00/year
