Job Summary
BOLD is seeking a Technical Lead Specialist to translate functional, technical, and architectural views into low-level technical designs. This role involves working with the Engineering Manager and technical architect, mentoring developers, and contributing to best practices. The Platform services team designs, creates, manages, and maintains highly scalable and distributed microservices for web and mobile applications, utilizing modern technologies like .Net, Python, Java, SQL, MySQL, Graph DB, and SOLR to serve millions of users daily.
Must Have
- Translate functional, technical & architectural views into low-level technical design.
- Mentor developers and contribute to best practices and standards.
- Excellent Object-Oriented coding practices, refactoring, and clean code.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks.
- Provide technical solutions and mentor test automation teams.
- Hands-on experience with Proof of Concept (PoC) solutions for automation.
- Debug software internals and write automated tests with scripting and automation tools.
- Contribute to high-quality test automation and create backend automation tests.
- 5-7 years experience in API Test Automation using Karate, Rest Assured, Cucumber, Java, BDD.
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Core Java, C#, JavaScript.
- Experience with CI/CD Tools (Jenkins) and source code controls (SVN, GIT, CVS).
- Working experience in iterative and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Exposure to Test and Defect Management Tools (JIRA, Trail, Zephyr).
- Experience with Relational (SQL server) and NoSQL (Mongo, Solr) databases.
- Experience with XML and JSON.
- Experience in building and implementing automated solutions for testing from scratch.
- Proficiency with WebUI and API testing tools (Selenium, Karate, Postman, SOAP UI, JMeter, Fiddler).

- Prior experience in platform-based teams is preferable.

ABOUT THIS TEAM
BOLD Platform services team design, creates, manage and maintains the highly scalable and distributed services for the wider use of web and mobile product applications/portals/websites. The current list of services is based on Microservices architecture whose domain ranges from visitor tracking, User profiles, authentication, content and payments.
Platform team uses state of the art modern technologies like .Net framework, Python, Java, SQL Server, My SQL, Graph DB, SOLR, and a lot of other tools & technologies serving millions of users with hundreds of million transactions everyday through a scalable and fault tolerant architecture.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Excellent Object-Oriented coding practices, Refactoring, Clean Code, merging, etc.
- Follow and recommend design principles, and best practices for QA automation.
- Able to develop and maintain test automation framework as per project requirements.
- Understand automation test plans, product architecture, and domain in detail.
- Solution-providing approach for technical queries and help/mentor test automation team.
- Should be able to develop components that are extensible to test tools.
- Hands-on experience in PoC solutions for automation and can demonstrate.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with multiple tasks.
- Test cutting-edge applications and products at the user level and code level
- Be able to understand the software internals, debug issues, and write automated tests with scripting and automation tools
- Assist in implementing and maintaining a Continuous Integration Solution
- Contribute and/or own the development of high-quality test automation
- Create and enhance backend automation tests and test tools
- Ability to extend API automation framework to the next level
- Work efficiently in a multi-project agile environment
- Have to involve in performance, security, and scalability testing efforts
- Write specialized testing tools for use in testing our software platform
- Participate in test design and code reviews
- Excellent debugging skills, measures, and analyses code for quality.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Have 5-7 years of experience in API Test Automation using Karate, Rest Assured, Cucumber, Java, BDD, or any other tool.
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Core Java, C#, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience with any CI/CD Tools like Jenkins.
- Experience with source code controls like SVN, GIT, or CVS.
- Have working experience in iterative and Agile methodologies.
- Quick learner with strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Have a strong ability to understand the business process flow.
- Able to analyze, understand, and describe issues and coordinate with the development team.
- Exposure to Test and Defect Management Tools like JIRA, Trail, Zephyr, etc.
- Strong test automation strategies and fundamentals
- Experience with team mentoring
- Experience with one or more database technology- Relational (like SQL server) and NoSQL
- Prior experience in platform-based teams is preferable.
