We are seeking a Staff Engineer, Layout Design with a strong background in RF/Analog circuit layout. This role involves developing next-generation RF transceivers and mixed-signal circuits for wireless communication systems, collaborating with circuit designers, optimizing floorplans, and ensuring high-quality layout execution to advance the world's technology.
Must Have
- Work with design engineers to achieve optimal floorplan in terms of areas and performance.
- Lead layout engineers, assisting with planning and execution of complex layout blocks.
- Ensure high-quality completion of layout tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with design and other layout engineers.
- Regularly track schedule and status to meet deadlines.
- Work with remote circuit designers to determine chip floorplan and optimize parasites, area, and High Speed SERDES/analog performance.
- Estimate schedules and plan execution within dedicated timeframes.
- Read foundry design documents to resolve issues like latch-up and DRC.
- Perform custom layout using Virtuoso, ensuring LVS/DRC clean results.
- Familiarity with CAD tools including Virtuoso, Calibre LVS, DRC, and SkillCad.
- Extensive experience in analog/mixed-signal layout design of deep submicron CMOS circuits.
- Recent experience with advanced nodes, including FinFET technologies.
- High proficiency in interpreting CALIBRE DRC, ERC, and LVS reports.
- Extensive experience in analog/RF related circuit layout, including LNA/PA/PLLs.
- High proficiency in CADENCE or MENTOR GRAPHICS layout tools.
- Good communication skills for schedule planning with design leads and engineers.
- Ability to lead a small group of layout engineers to deliver a successful tapeout.
Good to Have
- Experience on chip level design, including bump, pad, and ESD strategies.
- Programming knowledge in SKILL, Perl, and/or Python.

Samsung Semiconductor Inc is looking for a talent that has strong background and hands-on experience on RF/Analog circuit layout design. The candidate will be developing next-generation RF transceivers and mixed-signal circuits for wireless communication systems along with circuit designers.
What You’ll Do
- Work with design engineers to come up with optimal floorplan in terms of areas and performance.
- Be able to lead few layout engineers, help them plan, and execute on layout tasks to accomplish complicated layout blocks.
- Finish layout tasks with good quality.
- Have good communication skills to collaborate with other design and layout engineers.
- Track schedule and status regularly to make sure the layout will be finished on time.
- Working with remote circuit designers to determine the chip floorplan. You need to come up with strategies to optimize the parasites, reduce area, and improve High Speed SERDES/analog performance.
- You need to be able to estimate schedule and come up with plan how to get things done within a dedicated time frame.
- You should be able to read the design document provided by the foundry and figure out how to resolve issues like latch-up and DRC.
- Perform custom layout using Virtuoso, and be able to get LVS/DRC clean.
- You should be familiar with CAD tools, including Virtuoso, Calibre LVS, DRC, SkillCad and so on.
- Desired to have experience on chip level design, like bump, pad, and ESD strategies.
- Good communication skills to discuss with circuit designer.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years, Master’s with 8+ years, or PhD’s with 5+ years of relevant industry experience in Electrical Engineering, Technical, or related field preferred.
- Extensive experience in analog/mixed-signal layout design of deep submicron CMOS circuits and recent experience on advance nodes including FinFET technologies.
- High level of proficiency in interpretation of CALIBRE DRC, ERC, LVS, reports.
- Extensive experience in analog/RF related circuit layout, including LNA/PA/PLLs and etc.
- High level of proficiency in CADENCE or MENTOR GRAPHICS layout tools.
- Good communication skills with design leads as well as engineers for schedule planning.
- Being able to lead a small group of layout engineers to deliver a successful tapeout.
- Programming knowledge in SKILL, Perl, and/or Python is a bonus.
