Job Summary

Quest Global is seeking a Senior Vessel Designer to lead the mechanical design and engineering of pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and storage tanks for gas lift equipment and surface separation vessels. The role involves detailed engineering analysis, ensuring compliance with ASME BPVC and API standards, preparing technical documentation, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should have 7-10 years of experience in pressure vessel design within the oil and gas industry, with proficiency in design and analysis software.

Must Have

  • Lead mechanical design and engineering of pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and storage tanks
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis and calculations (mechanical, thermal, structural, stress, life assessments)
  • Ensure designs comply with ASME BPVC Sections VIII (Div 1 & 2), API standards (API 650/620), and NBIC regulations
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, data sheets, and documentation
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, and design modifications
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, field operations)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of industrial experience in pressure vessel design (oil and gas, petrochemical, or refining)
  • Deep knowledge of ASME, API, and other industry codes and standards
  • Proficiency in pressure vessel design software (PVElite, CodeCalc, COMPRESS) and CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools like ANSYS
  • Strong understanding of material properties and selection

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the mechanical design and engineering of pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and storage tanks specific to gas lift equipment, ESP housings, surface separation vessels, etc.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis and calculations, including mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis, stress analysis (using FEA software), and life assessments to ensure vessel integrity and safety under various operating conditions.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international codes and standards, particularly ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Sections VIII (Div 1 & 2), API standards (API 650/620), and NBIC regulations.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, data sheets, and documentation. Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, and design modifications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, and field operations, to ensure design intent is met, improve constructability, and resolve technical issues.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential, with a Master's degree often preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of industrial experience in pressure vessel design, preferably within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or refining industries.
  • Deep knowledge of ASME, API, and other industry codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in pressure vessel design software (e.g., PVElite, CodeCalc, COMPRESS) and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools like ANSYS for structural or finite element analysis.
  • Strong understanding of material properties and selection for various operating environments, including high temperature/corrosion.

Work Experience

Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements:

This role is considered an on-site position located in Duncan, OK

You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
