Job Description

As a Staff Software Developer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership on high-impact projects, influencing and coaching a distributed team of developers, facilitating alignment and clarity across teams, managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will also design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions for Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) - Multitenancy, a strategic effort to build a solution for first-party Google teams to build multi-tenant platforms that optimize latency and cost efficiency.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development
  • 5 years of experience building and developing infrastructure
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products
  • 5 years of experience in distributed cloud computing
  • 3 years of experience in containerization and container orchestration technologies
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 5 years of experience in distributed cloud computing, including 3 years of experience in containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
