Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership on high-impact projects related to Google Kubernetes Engine AI Training. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale software solutions, driving the technical vision and roadmap for Kubernetes evolution to meet the needs of the world's most demanding GenAI models training. You will also inspire, mentor, and support a talented team of engineers, fostering a culture of growth, knowledge sharing, and respect for individual strengths. You will be expected to facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. This role requires expertise in AI frameworks, algorithms and tools, along with experience in testing, launching software products, and software design and architecture.
Good To Have:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization
  • MLOps experience with large-scale distributed environments
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
  • Experience with AI frameworks (Tensorflow, PyTorch, JAX)
  • Experience with algorithms and tools (Kubeflow, Ray.io, MLflow)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experiences with AI frameworks (e.g., Tensorflow, PyTorch, JAX), algorithms and tools(e.g., Kubeflow, Ray.io, MLflow).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
  • MLOps experience with large-scale distributed environments.
