Job Description:
Studio Krafton Montreal is seeking an experienced System administrator to join our dynamic IT Team. As a smaller IT shop, we require someone who can wear multiple hats working onsite 5 days per week, including fulfilling IT Support responsibilities (Help Desk 1,2,3) when necessary. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in systems engineering and IT operations, a passion for continuous improvement, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in IT service delivery and security. You will be tasked with ensuring optimal performance, implementing necessary updates and patches, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Responsibilities:
- Systems Management: Design, deploy, and manage complex IT systems to ensure high availability and performance of all critical applications and services
- Cloud Integration: Maintain cloud solutions, particularly in AWS, to enhance scalability and security of our IT operations
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance, network traffic, and security logs, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Infrastructure Optimization: Optimize IT infrastructure for performance, reliability, and scalability, including servers, networks, and storage solutions
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and deploy automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) to streamline IT operations and improve efficiency.
- Incident Management: Act as the primary point of contact for escalated IT incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
- Change Management: Implement and oversee change management processes to ensure smooth and controlled deployment of updates and modifications to the IT environment
- Device Management: Manage and secure a diverse range of devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices using MDM solutions
- Backup & Recovery: Maintain backup and disaster recovery plans, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Project Management: Utilize project planning tools such as Atlassian Jira to manage and complete projects on time
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate IT solutions with business processes and enhance overall productivity
- Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems and processes, and provide training to IT staff to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity
Knowledge/Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering and operations, with a focus on networking support;
- Proficiency in Windows 11, Windows Server, Linux administration;
- Extensive proven experience in Network Security and Network Management (Juniper, Sophos);
- Strong knowledge of networking principles and technologies (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls);
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V;
- Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages;
- Knowledge of storage technology (NAS, SAN, iScsi)
- Hands on hardware knowledge: able to assemble and dissemble machines;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as work autonomously;
- Fluent in both English and French with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work under pressure, to effectively assist employees and explain complex IT concepts in understandable terms.
- Able to conduct occasional maintenance work (on weekends or evenings)
- Able to lift and move equipment (up to 30kg) - as required
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or AWS Certified are highly desirable.
