Job Description

As a Character Artist, you will be responsible for creating visually striking and memorable characters. Working closely with the Art Director, you will bring concepts to life through detailed 3D character models. This role demands a keen eye for form, anatomy, and a deep understanding of character design principles to deliver compelling and visually stunning characters that resonate with players.
Good To Have:
  • Knowledge of a 3D modeling software (Maya is a plus).
Must Have:
  • Collaborate with concept artists and designers to develop and refine character designs.
  • Create high-quality 3D character models with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Work closely with animators and riggers to ensure characters are well-suited for animation.
  • Collaborate with other artists, animators, and designers for seamless integration of characters.
  • Stay informed of the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • At least 5 years of experience in AAA console game productions as a Character Artist.
  • Mastery of ZBrush and Marvelous Designer.
  • Deep understanding of human anatomy and art fundamentals.
  • Proven skills in hard-surface modeling, sculpting and hair creation.
  • Knowledge of Substance Painter and PBR texturing.
  • Experience with photogrammetry.
  • Understanding of skinning and rigging.
  • Ability to follow both a given art direction and technical guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demosntrate resourcefulness, adaptability and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with concept artists and designers to develop and refine character designs that align with the game's artistic vision and narrative.
  • Create high-quality 3D character models with meticulous attention to detail to achieve the artistic vision of the project.
  • Work closely with animators and riggers to ensure characters are well-suited for animation, providing support and adjustments as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other artists, animators, and designers to ensure seamless integration of characters into the game world.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies and explore new and emerging technologies to improve the character art production process.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in AAA console game productions as a Character Artist.
  • Knowledge of ZBrush and Marvelous Designer.
  • Deep understanding of human anatomy and art fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of a 3D modeling software (Maya is a plus).
