Job Summary

Job Description

This role involves leading a team within the power equipment sector, focusing on adherence to standard work, creating, maintaining, and improving work standards. The team lead will ensure timely shipment and delivery of products, assist team members to meet daily shipping goals, and provide training to new employees. Responsibilities include cross-training, covering for absent team members, and performing root cause analysis for issues impacting daily shipping goals. A strong understanding of waste elimination, continuous improvement, safety, quality, productivity, and delivery is essential, along with the ability to identify and eliminate waste. Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other company personnel is also required.
Must have:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong training skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding of Lean and 6S
  • Ability to utilize Standardized Problem Solving Process
  • Prior forklift experience
Good to have:
  • AS 400 experience
  • Past leadership experience
  • Additional education in lean
  • Additional education in leadership

Job Description:

Shift: Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm

Pay is $26/hr.

THE DAY TO DAY...

  • Lead area team members
  • Adherence to standard work
  • Create, maintain, audit, and improve standard work
  • Ensuring team members are executing shipments and delivery in a timely fashion; includes helping if needed to meet daily shipping goals
  • Training new employees and cross training
  • Filling in for team members on vacation or absent
  • Root cause problem solving issues that prevent the materials department from meeting daily shipping goals
  • Good understanding of waste elimination, continuous improvement, safety, quality, productivity, and delivery. Ability to identify waste and eliminate it
  • Ability to effectively communicate to team members, supervisors and other Ariens Company personnel


THE QUALIFICATIONS...

  • Minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

  • Strong training and communication skills

  • Understanding of Lean and 6S

  • AS 400 experience preferred

  • Understands and has the ability to utilize the Ariens Company Standardized  Problem Solving Process

  • Past leadership experience desired

  • Additional education in lean, leadership, or distribution preferred

  • Prior forklift experience
