Position Summary - Technical Artist
We’re looking for a Middle Technical Artist to join our distributed team and help bring our mobile Bingo experience to the next level.
As a Tech Artist, you’ll work at the intersection of art and technology, making sure assets look great and run smoothly on mobile devices. You’ll support both artists and developers, streamline workflows, and actively improve the project structure and asset pipeline.
Responsibilities:
- Actively problem-solve art ideas and processes to budget and performance
- Build and tweak shaders, materials, and simple tools to enhance visuals and optimize workflows.
- Define staging for our Unity Projects
- Optimize graphics and layouts and create mock-ups for our Unity Programmer
- Implement effective, flexible UI for different mobile platforms
- Create mock-up interfaces for mobile games.
- Contribute to the team’s knowledge base and best practices documentation.
- Organize and maintain the project’s folder structure and naming conventions.
- Profile and optimize assets (2D/3D, VFX) for mobile platforms.
- Support artists with importing, setting up animations (Unity Animator, Spine, DoTween), and troubleshooting issues.
- Experience with Unity Addressables or Asset Bundles for asset management.
- Using C# to write custom editors, small tools, and automation.
Who are you:
- 2+ years of experience in a Technical Artist role or similar in Unity, ideally in mobile games.
- You have experience with 2D animation and particle systems in Unity and are familiar with animating 2D assets.
- You know technical constraints, optimization, and implementation.
- You know how to prototype, test, and implement new features quickly.
- You’re a proactive learner and eager to develop your skills.
- You have excellent teamwork skills.
- A portfolio that demonstrates all aspects of your skills is required.
- Familiarity with Git or SVN; able to independently update/replace assets.
- Confident in Adobe Photoshop and experienced with Spine (or similar animation tools).
- Comfortable working with animators and implementing their assets.
- Proactive, communicative, and ready to solve problems in a remote team.
- You are fluent in English.
- A genuine passion for games and a drive to improve workflows.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience working in an agile project environment, in a remote, cross‑disciplinary team.
- Affinity with casual games.
- Knowledge of and interest in usability and freemium best practices.
- Experience in user interface design on multiple platforms.
- Knowledge of shader development (HLSL) and the Unity rendering pipelines (URP/HDRP).
- Familiarity with performance profiling on a variety of mobile devices.
- Knowledge of Spine runtime integration and animation optimization.
- Understanding of localization workflows and multi‑language asset setup.
