The Technical Artist will address performance and technical challenges in a multiplayer video game and cinematic sequences using Unreal Engine 4. This role involves bridging the gap between artists and programmers to ensure seamless integration of art content, while adhering to artistic vision and technical limitations. Responsibilities include creating 3D assets, supporting artists and engineers, developing pipeline tools, resolving technical issues, collaborating with engineers, and documenting best practices. Good To Have:
  • Experience developing custom tools for Digital Content Creation tools (Maya, Max, etc.)
  • Knowledge of C++
  • Experience being part of a creative team
Must Have:
  • 2-3 years of experience as a 3D modeler or SFX Artist
  • At least one year experience in a digital art pipeline
  • Experience in video game industry
  • Experience with Unreal game engines and editors
  • Shader and performant material development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Job Brief:

We are looking for a Technical Artist to resolve various performance and technical issues for our multiplayer video game and cinematic sequences in Unreal Engine 4. As Technical Artist you bridge our artists and our programmers, ensuring the art content and features are properly integrated into the game while respecting the artistic vision and technical constraints of each project.

Responsibilities

  • Work with 3D artists and programmers to create 3D assets and import them correctly into the game engine, including all LOD’s, tuning their functions

  • Provide support to artists and engineers in asset performance and validation

  • Support artists and engineers through the 3D art pipeline and engine tools

  • Develop 3D art pipeline tools and extensions for usability and efficiency

  • Solve challenging technical issues to speed 3D asset pipeline delivery

  • Collaborate with engineers and testers to resolve in-game problems

  • Document collaboration to share technology and best practices

  • Inspire and empower the art team to optimize their processes

  • Review and identify opportunities for tool improvements



Skills Required:

  • 2−3 years of experience as a 3D modeller, and/or SFX Artist

  • At least one year of experience in a digital art content creation pipeline

  • List the number and variety of tech-art areas of interest in your past activity

  • Professional experience as a technical artist 

  • Experience in the video game industry

  • Experienced in developing custom tools for Digital Content Creation tools (Maya, Max, etc.)

  • Experience with Unreal game engines and editors

  • Shader and performant material development

  • Knowledge of C++ 

  • Experience being part of a creative team. 

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, time management and organizational skills.

  • Verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • General knowledge of online gaming
