Job Description

Landor is seeking a Technical Designer for their Mumbai Studio. The role involves developing design and detailing solutions that meet client criteria, ensuring technical standards and quality in architectural deliverables like drawings and BOQs. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal teams and external consultants, supporting project managers with design development, and contributing to continuous improvement through research and development of new material libraries and construction techniques. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in retail or experience design, proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and Revit, strong drawing and detailing skills, and a deep understanding of retail design execution aligned with Landor's vision.

  • Ability to produce detailed drawing packs, BOQs, and conduct site surveys
  • Staying updated on market trends, materials, and innovations
Must Have:
  • Experience in retail or experience design

What you'll do:  

  • Develop multiple design and detailing solutions that meet the client’s strategic, functional, design, and budgetary criteria, while ensuring technical standards and quality output across all architectural deliverables such as drawings and BOQs.
  • Collaborate proactively with internal teams including Architecture, Design, Strategy, and Client Servicing and coordinate with external consultants (MEP, LEED, Structural) to ensure timely project completion.
  • Support the Project Manager and Project Director by sharing design development responsibilities and ensuring clear communication of all necessary information for successful design implementation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by developing new material libraries, vendor databases, and researching innovative construction techniques alongside the Project Manager.

What you'll need:

  • Experience & Qualifications: Multiple years of strong experience in retail or experience design, delivery, and execution. Degree in Architecture or Interior Design required; post-graduation in retail design, sustainable design, or project management is a plus.
  • Technical Skills & Knowledge: Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Revit, with strong drawing, detailing, and technical skills. Good material knowledge, understanding of construction methods, and ability to produce detailed drawing packs, BOQs, and conduct site surveys.
  • Design Approach & Brand Alignment: Deep understanding of retail design and execution solutions that align with Landor’s vision—delivering great ideas expertly, beautifully crafted, and executed with rigor and flair. Staying updated on market trends, materials, and innovations and sharing insights with the team.
  • Professional & Collaborative Abilities: Excellent time management, communication (verbal and written), and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional, and team-oriented environment with strong collaboration across all aspects of the role.
