Job Description:
Vertex is seeking a Technical Product Manager to execute the vision of Vertex Cloud Platform that provides connected experience and improves productivity for our customers. This role demands a strong foundational knowledge of Data Governance, Data Strategy, ERP business process and preferably Tax Technology. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver with experience in driving data capabilities that will help unlock new and connected experiences for our customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define roadmap, ideate, prioritize, and deliver data governance solutions that can work effectively with in-market products and adapt to new solutions in the future.
- Responsible for performing detailed level analysis on Vertex Products Data and Information exchange, APIs, data models, and accountable for driving data governance that aligns with product strategies and priorities
- Responsible for delivering features, user stories, test strategy, and working with various stakeholders to execute the data governance and data strategy roadmap.
- Build and maintain data catalogs, glossaries, and lineage to support data stewardship and discovery.
- Develop self-service governance tools for data owners and stewards.
- Work closely with Product Engineering, UX and other departments to execute and connect our products data and information accurately to meet the business requirements of respective product goals.
- Influence cross-functional initiatives related to the overall data connectedness.
- Partner with engineering and architects to ensure technical designs are thoroughly evaluated and aligned with business objectives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in the field to ensure that Vertex Cloud platform remains cutting-edge.
- Contribute and lead Agile ceremonies, and perform other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Six plus (6+) years of experience as a Technical Product Manager or a relevant role in leading data product organizations or relevant industry experience executing data governance and data strategy.
- Extensive experience in complex platform solutions and product integrations required
- Working experience or understanding of the MDM solutions is a plus.
- Product Management mindset and thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies and SDLC
- Exhibits a keen interest in and comprehensive understanding of AI, with the ability to evaluate, implement, and optimize AI-driven products and solutions to address complex business challenges.
- Previous experience with SaaS, Cloud solutions with an ability to understand complex business systems and a willingness to learn and apply new technologies as needed.
- Proven ability to influence and deliver high-impact initiatives. Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to define and drive the team’s mission, vision, and long-term strategies.
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of collaborating effectively across departments. Strong written and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with remote teams to achieve sustainable long-term success.
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach and a strong commitment to achieving results, while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability to both customers and team members

Pay Transparency Statement:
US Base Salary Range: $114,500.00 - $148,800.00
Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.
In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
