Job Description

The Technical Product Manager leads cross-functional teams to investigate and execute changes for assigned products, acting as a single point of contact for stakeholders. They ensure quality and compliance through life cycle management and document updates. The role involves devising optimal design solutions, validating engineering designs, resolving technical issues, and evaluating vendor components. They also monitor system performance, ensure policy adherence, present findings, mentor junior engineers, and refine engineering practices to enhance product designs and customer satisfaction.

  • Presents comprehensive and persuasive technical findings, design proposals, and project updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Provides expert mentorship, guidance, and training to junior engineers.
  • Implements and refines advanced engineering best practices and methodologies.
  • Assesses and integrates actionable feedback from rigorous testing, user experience studies, and market trends.
  • Cultivates effective relationships with internal/external partners and provides influence over projects and peer groups.

Job Details

Job Responsibilities:

The Technical Product Manager takes ownership of investigation of an (MLD-) change (request) and the execution of the changes for his/her assigned products. He leads a (change) team, built out of cross-functional members with their specific competences. The Technical Product Manager acts a single point of contact to stakeholders including internal customer and external customer, representing the entire (change) team. In the context of agile teams, the Technical Product Manager is in close alignment with the Product Owner with respect to priority settings. Ideally, he is part of an agile team, that is capable of the solution creation of the related change requests.

The Technical Product Manager has overall technical leadership and responsible for realization of life cycle management and documents update to ensure quality and compliance of his products in close alignment with the relevant system engineer.

  • Interprets complex engineering requirements to devise and deliver optimal design solutions for sophisticated medical device components, demonstrating advanced technical expertise and strategic thinking, working under limited supervision.
  • Guides comprehensive and robust test plans, procedures, and protocols to rigorously validate engineering designs, ensuring stringent compliance with high-quality and regulatory standards.
  • Resolves advanced and multifaceted technical issues across hardware, software, and other technical components, employing sophisticated problem-solving skills to address and prevent production downtime effectively.
  • Evaluates and approves high-potential components and technologies from external vendors and suppliers, ensuring they meet Philips' rigorous quality, performance, and strategic standards.
  • Monitors and critically assesses the performance and reliability of complex systems and components, proactively identifying and leading initiatives to optimize product performance, lifecycle, and user experience.
  • Ensures strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards, fostering a culture of compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Presents comprehensive and persuasive technical findings, design proposals, and project updates to senior stakeholders and executive management, effectively communicating complex engineering concepts and their strategic implications.
  • Provides expert mentorship, guidance, and training to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and technical mastery within the team.
  • Implements and refines advanced engineering best practices and methodologies, driving significant process improvements to enhance efficiency, innovation, and accelerate time-to-market for new products.
  • Assesses and integrates actionable feedback from rigorous testing, user experience studies, and market trends, continuously refining and enhancing product designs to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, competitive advantage, and market leadership.
  • Cultivates effective relationships with internal/external partners and provides influence over projects and peer groups, demonstrating full understanding of engineering specialization within the medical devices sector.

Minimum required Education:

Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum required Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience with Bachelor's in areas such as System Architecture, System Design, Hardware Engineering or equivalent OR no prior experience required with Master's Degree.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
